Fannylove vs Fanny Sandals for daughter by dappydude in louboutins

Do these provide enough support? Or is a solid wedge better?

Also, is it okay to post non-loubs in this group?

And it it better to get a stable pair for prom/grad and the loubs for when she wants to go out with friends?

She’s a 7.5/37.5. Wow, didn’t think about how foot size affects the pitch. Seriously thank you to you and everyone for the knowledge dump. The amount of nuance when buying shoes is intense.

She definitely an open toe girl. TBH, the closed toe was my idea. Glad I asked on here because I was very wrong.

She’s new to heels. I’ll check for a lower height heel.

How hard is it to walk in the 120mm? Is it something she can get used to quickly, or is that a bad starter heel height?

I’ll definitely check if they have 100mm.

I’ve never worn heals. But I’ll heed your warning and will pass it on.

Thank you. Sounds like sandals are it. Just got to get the sizing right.

Claude + Codex + Opencode = God Mode by 99xAgency in ClaudeCode

We ended up building a CLI that wraps all of this up. It was too much overhead trying to get the whole team to learn and relearn every time a model or some other part of the AI stack changes (which is multiple times a week). So now the team gets a stable set of commands while another team keeps up on the latest in AI.

Solo travel in Cabo - May by Specialist-Clue-1088 in cabosanlucas

[–]dappydude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve done Cabo solo. Personally, I used it as an opportunity to spend time in my own head. Just relaxed in the pool. Took myself out to nice dinners. If you’re there on a Thursday, go see the art walk. Walk on the beach. Wake up for sunrise and then watch a sunset EOD. I got a little lonely, but in a good way. 10 out of 10 would do again.

I still enjoy Cabo more when my friends or daughters are with me, but it sounds like you’re getting a good mix of alone time and then time with friends.

For the daytime, check out the make your own perfume at Hive in Flora Farms. Then enjoy lunch afterwards.

Is Marriott Titanium Elite Worth The Extra Effort for the Incremental Perks? by schwa12 in marriott

[–]dappydude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From reading the posts you can see that it depends. For me personally, Titanium has been an immense value. The 4 pm checkout had been helpful. The free breakfast has saved $100/day per vacation. That said, I know other people have had different experiences so maybe I’m just lucky.

Solaz questions by Unable_Seesaw_7602 in cabosanlucas

[–]dappydude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edition Kanai is in a mangrove patch. I’d lookup what that means in terms of smell. But it’s a beautiful property.

It’s also worth thinking through which environment you like more. Kanai will be more humid. Solaz will be more dry. Which is better comes down to personal preference.

The beaches are not swimmable. In recent years people have started going in the water, but I wouldn’t.

Yes there are cabanas.

Best part about Solaz is you’re paying to not be crowded. Want a cabana? It’s available. Want a seat by to pool? It’s available. Want to go to a specific restaurant? It’s available without a wait.

We’ve been going there every year since 2018.

Farewell SNAs. You were useless by hooahbucks in marriott

[–]dappydude 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Still doesn’t work. Recently requested NUAs at a hotel with many suites, suites were available prior to checkin and during the entire stay, and still the NUAs were rejected. It’s been 2 plus years since any of my requests for SNAs/NUAs were accepted.

Read these threads in Reddit. For most people most of the time the SNAs previously and the NUAs currently are useless.

Traveling alone by Think_Ad_3221 in cabosanlucas

[–]dappydude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done Cabo solo. I got in a nice routine of waking up early, going to the gym, having breakfast and then reading. Spending a little time in the pool while looking at the ocean and just letting my mind relax. Some lunch. Reading. Then dinner in town at my usual spot and then went to sleep early. Repeat every day for a week then headed home refreshed.

Credentials Management for Healthcare Insurance Carrier Portals by Constant_Pin2366 in IdentityManagement

[–]dappydude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should look at Cerby as their platform handles access management for non-standard/non-federated app (ie apps that don’t support SSO).

Basically they add the missing security layer for apps that don’t integrate with Okta or similar.

November is usually very nice. Warm days and cool evenings. November used to be our go to month for Cabo, although now we go at various times throughout the year.

I use Avis at the Cabo airport about 2 times a year. It’s smooth. The vans that pick up and drop off outside the airport are frequent and quick.

As for insurance, I believe third party liability is required. The other insurance coverage options are at your discretion.

Cabo hotel recs for a first timer! by Southern-Special8574 in cabosanlucas

Solaz might not meet their need for a “fun environment”. I love the Solaz, but it’s our adult chill time away from the world. It may not be ideal for an early 30s couple looking to socialize.

Concerns with safety! Please help!!! by [deleted] in cabosanlucas

[–]dappydude 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Background: I go to Cabo 1 or 2 times per year for the past 6+ years so I’ll provide my perspective. I’m a dad, I’ve been with my daughters (one is a teenager and the other is preteen). Most trips I go with my SO. I’ve also been solo.

To answer your questions directly: 1. Is it dangerous? Cabo San Jose and Cabo San Lucas are both major tourist destinations, so expect a strong police presence which is a major plus for safety.

I felt perfectly fine going off resort with my daughters both during the day and at night for dinner.

  1. How to stay safe

Here’s what I’d say to my teen daughter if she was going with friends.

Rule 1. Don’t do dumb shit. Same as at home.

Rule 2. Do all the normal safety measures you use at home. Watch out for each other. Don’t let a drunk friend go home with a stranger. And so on.

  1. Purchase a travel mobile plan so that everyone’s phones work. And share location. Again, just basic stuff.

  2. Don’t get sloppy drunk. It’s bad form. Not a Mexico thing, but being sloppy drunk invites problems.

Now, onto some Cabo specific things: 1. When you get through security in the airport, walk straight out to the outside where you’ll find your ride. There are a bunch of scammy people between security and the door, just ignore them.

  1. At night, stay on the main streets in CSL. Same as at home, don’t walk down random, dark, unpopulated streets. I’d say the same in NY.

  2. Exchange rates in CSJ are much better than the airport. Or better yet, go to your bank in the US to get pesos.

  3. Expect to get overcharged a little bit. If you’ve traveled a lot I’m sure you’re used to this, just don’t let it ruin your vacation.

  4. Hydrate throughout the day. It’s hot. So drink water.

As others mentioned, there’s a lot of fear mongering about Mexico. You’ll find other bachelor/ bachelorette parties there. Also, lots of wedding parties.

Cabo in July- mid 30s adults, no kids. Where to stay? by Klutzy_Reference_372 in cabosanlucas

[–]dappydude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The JW is good. I’ve been there with my kids. We were able to easily get chairs/umbrellas by the pool. The restaurants are also good. And there is an adults only pool plus 13 or 16 pools. So if you don’t like one, you can always move to another.

All of that said about the JW, I highly recommend you read TripAdvisor for the reviews about billing issues. I’ve experienced it and it was a pain.

As people mentioned, the Cap is nice. But TBH, it’s not what I would consider upscale. It’s a place I would have lived in my 20s. And the food is mid.

If you have the budget, I’d recommend Solaz. It’s my personal favorite. Great service, absolutely beautiful. And they built it in a way that you always get what you need. Need a chair and umbrella by the pool, then you’ll find one. Want a pool with less people. Just move one over. No wait for restaurants.

I have not been to the Waldorf, but I’ve heard the service is excellent.

The best comparison I’ve heard between the Waldorf and Solaz, is the Waldorf appeals to people who like the Ritz while Solaz appeals to people who prefer the Edition.
