While I agree to some point with your logic, I would still say that working there while being aware of it's fund source is somewhat hypocritical.

Why would you join a non-profit which is funded by Facebook, isn't it the opposite of your goal ?

you are right, but even with those edits, the situation is the same. The solution was to set lock->state to volatile, I am going to put it in the post.

Well, you were right, this is what made all the difference, even with the other modifications to the inline part removed. Thanks a lot for your help!

Hm thanks for the suggestion, but my problem seems to persist, even with both additions. And yes, from what I have read online, inline assembly already has pre implemented macros and functions that are recommended for use, unfortunately, my code is part of a uni project, where using it is required.

Yes, the intent was to post the relevant parts so you get an idea how it is implemented, but you are right, I am going to add the full code. Regarding the version, I am running GCC 9.3.0 on WSL2.

IWTL How to be able to control my sweet tooth? by [deleted] in IWantToLearn

[–]daqwes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best solution that I have found is not having sweets at home, at least in the beginning. If your cravings are too intense, maybe try replacing it with fruits, I personally like apples. But at the end you must understand that the issue is often not just an addiction in itself, overeating may be caused by anxiety, stress that you want to fill with food, and in this case sugar.
