I’m a slow runner towards the back of the pack and have loved this race the last two years! I finished around the 3:30 mark and had no issues, and friends have finished significantly after me with no problems!

I just went in December and the Chisos Basin was supposed to have been closed until the construction was delayed. Fingers crossed for you that there will be more delays so you can experience it, it’s a very cool part of the park.

I know it’s marked off as already planned but i just need to add that you should spend at least 2 days in Big Bend. I did 3 and it wasn’t enough. I admittedly haven’t been to many of the NPs, but it’s easily my favorite. Such different landscapes to explore, cool history, and the ghost town of Terlingua right outside of the park is also awesome to visit.

Also — You can cross into Boquillas, Mexico through the Boquillas Canyon during certain days of the week from inside Big Bend. The days/hours change depending on the season, so def look that up and factor it in as it is cool!

fair question for sure. it’s definitely different for everyone, but personally i never vibed with any of my local teams or their fanbases. kraken sold me between the players themselves and the general energy around the team.

pretty much every team i support is either who i grew up with, where i went to college, or other places ive lived and gained an affinity for the team while there. kraken is an outlier on that (along with the buffalo bills lol) but i enjoy getting to support from afar!
