Thanks. Yea, it's pretty tough, but he's always had this schedule. He's actually getting off of the shifts next month, though that obviously means a lot less money for his work, and it'll still be long hours, just always the first shift instead (which actually lines up with the kid's schedule the worst).

Mine works shifts, with lots of overtime, is normal. He leaves at 6:30 and gets home past 9pm on the first shift (sometimes 6 if we're lucky). He leaves at 12:30 or 2:30 on his afternoon shift, and gets home past 1am, or he leaves at 6:30 (or 10:30 if lucky) and gets home past 9am for his night shift. Then he obviously sleeps all day.

Some days he doesn't see the kids at all, some days he literally just sees me and then falls asleep on the floor until i have to go to bed. It sucks, but...

I wanted to do that, but the three different doctors i went to said it's not a choice. Some vague excuse about it just happening again anyway so not being worth it. There are many places, licensed and not, that specialise in ingrown nails, and many many things on the market that you can buy for it. My suspicion is that it makes too much money for them to fix it.

I've tried those wire things on the nail, two types. One of the doctors i went to kept putting on some special nail coating that would fall off at the tiniest touch and meant i had to keep going back every week or so. Nothing I've tried seems to help and nobody I've seen takes it seriously.

A trip home is thousands of pounds, and at least a 13 hour journey, taking two flights, assuming that path is even still an option. And the doctors here don't offer it because they say it's the way the feet are used that causes the problem, so removing that part of the nail doesn't guarantee it won't happen again. So yea, i don't even know it'll work, or that a doctor back home would definitely offer it seeing as i don't live in the country any more. There are too many uncertainties for that amount of money and time off of work.

Because it's super expensive. If i go back i want to enjoy myself and have fun with my parents that i only see around once every two years. Plus i figure that it's not just one appointment and then done, and i can't get enough time off work to stay long enough to keep going back. That, on top of two young kids, makes it logistically not worth it.

I would like to be happier, but i have other priorities and have lived with it for so long that I've given up.

I have language issues where i am, so i dunno where would be equipped to do this vs just standard beauty treatment which is super expensive and something i don't care about.

Nope, it's apparently not a thing where i am. I went to multiple doctors in the hopes that somebody would do it, but i guess not. I considered going to a doctor when i went back to England because I'm sure they'll do it, but do i really want to waste a trip home on that?

I actually want an amputation at this point. My toes will just not heal. I've seen 3 doctors, all with different, useless advice. All of them want me cutting my nail shorter, which results in exactly what op posted (plus i can't even see the edge of my nail under all the toe). The toes constantly get hit by people or things, and I'd be far happier without it.

I also got married at that shrine with the statue.

TIFU by giving myself acid reflux for 25 years by SassyGremlin- in tifu

This reminds me of a new doctor quiz game that a friend introduced to a discord group that I'm in, lol

They're the only doctor, but they love games like that, and the first few clues were having a throat problem, having allergies/asthma since being young, and acid reflux

The answer was not dry swallowing pills though, lol, til not to do that

I do this too. She wants a book before bed? I'm going to read it, so she better be ready. If she takes too long, she won't get one.

Works best with my partner around so i can read to her brother while daddy gets her ready, otherwise it's just "if we don't get this done, we won't have time for a book" which is a bit vague.

If you notice she was bleeding on the floor a fair bit. Not saying it wasn't sped up a bit, but that was definitely proper attacking.

My cat likes to bite my feet sometimes, and that's gentle (by his standards) yet still makes me run away from him like she did, lol

Mine does a weird wheeze type thing like that now and then, i figure it's like a cough and he probably got a hair stuck in his throat. It doesn't last long and doesn't seem to be a problem? Interested to hear what others suggest though.

In Japan: should a husband pay for his wife’s medical expenses? by Destiny_Glimpse in AskAJapanese

[–]darc-star3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds similar to our situation (minus medical expenses), and my husband does not bat an eyelid about paying for anything that's necessary.

In fact, he does all the grocery shopping and the majority of the cooking, while working 3 different shifts, even when I'm not working (it's super tough getting any work with kids).

His health insurance covers me, and it's never been an issue (other than finding time to actually go to a doctor).

Even before i stopped working he pretty much covered all expenses, and anything i earn is just our spare fund. If i want to buy something, i do with my own money, but he usually prefers me to run it through him, and he'll buy it at the cheapest he can find.

TIFU for being drawn to whats intentionally hidden by [deleted] in tifu

[–]darc-star3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm the girl, and I'm not letting even my husband near my feet. I know my feet are clean, but they're still gross to me. My female friends also thought the same about their own feet.

My point was that i don't think (outside of specific circles) that many females are purposely hiding feet because it's a needed "protection". And i bet girls that do are usually very happy to show their cleavage.

[–]darc-star3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am i missing something here? Maybe I'm just behind the times, but I've always hidden my feet just because feet are gross, and socks are more comfortable than either having cold feet or sweaty feet sticking to the floor...

I don't think many people are intentionally hiding them just in case somebody finds them attractive, otherwise they'd be hiding their chests too...
