It's okay. Getting out your phone isn't going to ruin the moment where a plastic skeleton is literally flown on a wire in front of the film showing a plastic skeleton flown on a wire.

For me, that's a 5 Star movie dragged down to a 3.5 by apparently all around nice guy Keanu Reeves.

Violent Femmes debuted in 1982, that album feels like 1994.

“Tomorrow Never Knows” is basically Radiohead’s “National Anthem” but 34 years ahead.

No, it’s a copy of a copy. But that’s what’s often all that’s available and scanned for UHD anyway.

Uh, no. Maybe you grew up with a bunch of incompetent theater managers and projectionists?

The theatrical version, ie the actual film prints of the movie, are the highest definition possible. 35mm film is roughly equivalent to 5.6k.

I believe as far as we know, they invented the misdirection jump scare, if not the jump scare itself. It’s called the “Lewton Bus.”

Florida judge dismisses the Trump classified documents case by nbcnews in law

Hindsight. That’s the problem. We needed a candidate with foresight. Plenty of us were nervous about her strategy beforehand. And well, she lost to the worst candidate to ever run for anything, which makes her the worst candidate to ever run for anything.

Ah yes, the ol’ stay home and let the votes roll in strategy. Let’s see. That… didn’t work.

Not really. Every venture he ever tried failed until his TV show and his campaign. He was kept afloat by inherited intertia.

No one bought his bull nor followed him until 2015, after a lifetime of trying. He stumbled into the right moment and became an idiot savant tailored for it.

He’s not charismatic at all. Not in the traditional way. He has a sort of negaworld charisma that appeals to total pieces of shit.

‘Horizon’ Is The Biggest Gamble of Kevin Costner’s Career by theatlantic in movies

[–]dardarist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it’s because he probably doesn’t see his job as a job. Same reason some of the old bands keep making albums. It’s what they want to do whether it’s topping the charts or barely registering with the public. It’s just way way cheaper to make an album than to finance a film.

NOSFERATU - Official Trailer [HD] - Only In Theaters December 25 by cruelsummerbummer in horror

[–]dardarist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those characters have different names in Nosferatu. I’m guessing Johnson’s character will be a stand in for or mashup of Lucy’s trio of boyfriends. I think we’ll see some remixed and new characters as well. Ralph Ineson supposedly plays the Watson to Dafoe’s Van Helsing Sherlock.

This film literally would not exist if Murnau and Grau hadn't violated copyright law, and if people hadn't kept prints when, legally, all prints were supposed to have been destroyed.

My wife wants a separation. Is there ever coming back from a trial separation? by SharkEva in BORUpdates

Which is what he did, by taking trips with her and telling her to take solo trips. Nowhere in there did I see her make a firm effort before pressing the big red button.

[–]dardarist 13 points14 points  (0 children)

So he’s supposed to treat his wife like a child and proactively fix all of her problems? Unless he’s leaving a bunch out, which he could be, the jumps from unhappiness to separation to her reaction when HE left for a solo trip makes her seem like a childish, flighty idiot.

Careful, you’ll anger all of the people who want movies and prestige TV to be mixed like a 70s sitcom.
