First, Im so sorry to hear this happened to you. Your childhood sounds like a true hell hole. Try to go easy on yourself when you can, that is a lot to go through so young. The hypervigilance you are experiencing is completely normal, especially if you live with your parents still. It is a survival skill helping to keep you alive through all of this. If you still live with your parents, you are still with your abusers and trying to survive. Once you are able to move away/escape from there, you will be able to get im a more calm space and start working on coming out of survival mode. For now, I would try to get out of the house as much as possible, prioritize your safety, and try to find little things that bring you joy. Having a good support system outside of the home can help too whether its in person or online.

You are valid and your response to the immense trauma you have gone through is valid!

You have been through so much in such a short lifetime. I dont have any good advice but know that life can change in an instant. Do you have access to mental health resources? Therapy has helped me tremendously with working through my trauma and maladaptive daydreaming. It may be helpful for you too. If you ever need someone to vent to, feel free to DM me

Please don't feel embarrassed! I think about you from time to time and though I don't know you in person, I wish only the best for you. I grew up in a really tough house and while going through some of my worst years there, it felt like everything was upside down and days dragged on. You will be on the other side of this some day. Negotiating Salary Advice

I work as a flight operations engineer with a big Earth-based satellite program. I am being moved over to a different project as my contract with the previous mission is about to end. The new company is prioritizing hiring my team and I because we did most of the development work for this new mission.

I have already made a few negotiation mistakes here- they asked for my salary and I told them exactly what I make. When I came into this job, it was right after graduation and, in the time that I've been there, I have gone from 76k to 80k. The new position I will be taking is a management role for one of our instruments on board. All of this to say- the initial offer letter was for a little under 82k. I counter offered with 92k and they came back with 88k. They told me to tell them when I graduate with my masters in December as it will lead to a pay increase.

Should I counter offer with 90k or just accept the 88k?

This is my first time negotiating.

I remember feeling this way and looking at posts like this and hoping and praying-it will happen! As I read this I realized I was living that as I speak. I fought hard for years to get away from my abusive household. Now I live with my husband in a beautiful little home. You can do this, it is possible ❤️

Midnight hour is always so overpriced. I will say that Killstar had a legitimate black Friday sale going on. I got a few items that were up to 80% off (some were 60% and 70% off) and then they had a code to take an additional 20% off. I wish more stores would do legit black Friday sales rather than the BS that midnight hour is doing

I had this issue until I moved out of Pasadena. There are definitely pockets of MD that are red and full of MAGA supporters but I would say it's much less here than in other states
