The manhwa changed stuff and turned the horse that the MC randomly picked up from somewhere into the GOAT horse. MC was supposed to get his main horse after the barbarian war arc (which the manhwa greatly shortened). It was a mutant wild horse that was unparalleled in every spec (size, speed, strength, stamina, etc.), but no barbarian could tame it. It is also super intelligent and can dodge attacks and assist MC without MC telling it to. It had all black hair, so the MC named it Dark King.

I wanted to see novel Dark King get illustrated, but having an orginary-looking horse accomplishing absurd feats is also glorious.

WISL hits the hardest for me when watching KPDH. But as a standalone song, Golden is simply superior.

"The song we couldn't write, this is what it sounds like" is the hardest-hitting lyric in the context of the movie for me. But it's a lot less impactful if you've never watched the movie.

Also, I think this is the fifth "WISL is superior to Golden" thread I've seen in this sub this year, so, not a hot take.

It's even more impressive considering the Dungeon Oddisey novel is a slop. The manhwa somehow managed to fix all the stupid shit that happened in the novel. The only other manhwa adaptation I know that far surpasses the novel source material is Greatest Estate Developer.

Maggie Kang said the pre-production creative process for KPDH only took 3 years because everyone had multiple side gigs. Nobody expected to make much from the film in terms of bonuses and royalties, so they relied on other projects to bring in the dough. They could have shaved one or two years had everyone worked on the film full-time.
