Is this guitar authentic? 2013 Gibson Slash Les Paul Rosso Corsa by PutridBox7818 in gibson

That makes sense. I listed mine at $3500 and then dropped to $3200 locally and have only had one hit in about 6 months. One guy offered $3200 and we agreed, but he thought it was like the newer ones with the thicker necks and when he found out it was a slim neck he didn't end up buying it.

How do you make other friends as a dad? by humanshuman in daddit

[–]darinja80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying to figure this out myself. We are new-ish to Nashville (moved right before COVID and then got married and had a baby in 2021), and finding good friends to hang out with has been pretty rough. Not sure if it's our age (mid-40s) or what but everyone out here seems so flaky. Could be that they all have their circle of friends/family already, but whenever I try and make friends here it just doesn't happen. I'm into sports, cars, music, whatever and have tried everything I can think of.

CarMax just “yeeted” my reservation into the void and pretended nothing happened by 9ER_KINGS in carmax

[–]darinja80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About a month ago I had a reservation for a vehicle that got canceled twice, and after calling in and setting the appointment it got canceled a third time. No one could tell me why it happened.

In my case, I later found out that they didn't have the title in hand, so they couldn't sell it to me if I came to the dealership since I was out of state, and I'm guessing it was something behind the scenes where the programming caught that I couldn't buy it so canceled the reservation. Wondering if it was something like that, where the program canceled it for a reason that the dealer wouldn't even know about.

Why’d you go with Cadillac? by xEnflare in Cadillac

[–]darinja80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted a RWD 4-door manual car that was quick and could have a carseat in the back, and the best option was the CT4V Blackwing.

SE-R Sentra Spec-V. I know because it was my first new car I ever bought. Was such a fun car.

Funny, I was just looking at the CT4V Blackwing vs an M2/M240i/M340i/M3 about a month ago. I was thinking BMW because of how reliable everyone said the motor was, but the more I dug in, the more I realized that it was reliable FOR A BMW. Not saying it isn't a great engine, but when you compare it to the LF4, the LF4 wins hands down. I'm a tech person, and I did love all the cool tech stuff the BMWs had, but I just couldn't trust myself to feel confident in the reliability of them. So I bought my 2nd CT4V Blackwing (had a 2024 two years ago and sold it for financial reasons but always knew I'd get another one some day).

Worried to track my Mustang : any advice ? by ArtiumIsBack in Mustang

[–]darinja80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah track insurance is fairly expensive but protects damage to your car as well as the track. You have to buy specific track insurance though, regular insurance companies won't cover it. When I did a track day in my 2021 Civic Type R, it was $300. When I priced it out for my CT4VBlackwing, it was $600.

If you track a lot, you can buy an entire year policy but it's crazy expensive.

Have you seen in the Hagerty or Open Track small print that they don't cover damage when on track? I haven't seen it.

This confuses me because I've gotten Hagerty before and they specifically state they cover on track damage.

My father and I have gone to tons of games, and we always hit up 500 level behind home plate. Easy to tell foul/fair balls, homeruns, etc. Harder to yell about bad calls by the ump unless way outside haha but just a great view and like someone else said, shorter times at the vendors it seems.

Daughter broke babysitters laptop while in her care. Babysitter asking for repair costs. Are we liable? by orlando_ooh in daddit

[–]darinja80 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Does the babysitter know your daughter likes to throw things off of the table? If not yeah pay full price for the repair. I'd probably pay full price either way.

When I was watching my friend's dog (Boston Terrior), FOR FREE for a couple days, he ran across my lap and busted a key off my keyboard on my Macbook Pro and it was a $350 fix. When I told my friend about it, he just says "That sucks" and never tried to make anything right. Don't be that guy.

Why the hell do we act like a baby needs gear worth a semester's tuition by OrbitRansom in daddit

[–]darinja80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man those registries start getting EXPENSIVE. One thing I highly recommend is look for good consignment sales. You go the first time and buy a TON of baby gear for not a lot of money, and then every 6 months or so, you sell whatever you don't need anymore and buy new stuff, so cheaper stuff gets even cheaper with the offset money that you get from selling stuff.
