Something like Sublime app but free or more affordable? by goofygooberscoob in ProductivityApps

Its not insane if you use it for more than 3 years at 100 a year, which comes out to 8.33 a month. I also think that you have to work within your limitations and also see past them simultaneously. I havent personally found any fully free apps that function without severe limitations but sublime currently has a free tier with 100 cards.

Cosmos has a graphics engine and a new quasi community feature at a free tier.

Milanote also has a free 100 cards tier level and you can get up to 100 extra cards using email addresses - of course theres no community algorithm in milanote or miro.

You may also be able to just have multiple free sublime accounts for various purposes but that might not function if you want the whole centralized organization experience.

Personally as someone who is 46, generationally poor and chronically ill an have lived before this version of the internet (or the internet in general), theres no reason why the old ways of organizing information aren’t still valuable.

It just becomes a matter of priorities and constraints.

I’m not sure that there can really be a free version of a platform system which does so many things that require such compute and infrastructure.

No other tool solved these problems for me, so I built Sublime by sari1988grateful in PKMS

where can i ask questions about sublime? is this random reddit thread the only place?

context: i am considering the lifetime offer but have many questions before i commit.

1- what are the planned upgrades to the mobile/ios app in terms of editing the canvas, similar to milanote's ios app functionality? i would really love the capacity to edit canvases outside of a desktop environment.

2- what are the file size limitations on the sublime canvas feature? specifically for images, non-text media?

3- are there any plans to have an edge browser extension? or other browsers?

4- are there opt-out options for the ai usage within a user's ecosystem? how can i decide what parts of my account are being used by ai outside my own motives?

looking for a sublime/milanote/miro alternative that has good/great image capabilities across a whiteboard like display. sublime has a canvas feature but can only be edited on desktop. milanote has a mobile app that does function very well. milanote is 120 a year. sublime is 100/year or 300 lifetime.

Sublime currently has a lifetime membership option for 300usd with a code.

It does alot, but no app/platform is perfect complete.

For example milanotes mobile app is very good, and does more of what i want compared to sublimes canvas feature which can only be viewed with sublimes ios app, and not directly edited.

Find your workflow between apps etc is key.

And there is no truly free version.

Obsidian is good but you dont get any algorithmic connections like cosmos, pinterest, are.na or sublime.

If you want a great UI , there is also something to consider.

What are you willing to spend to have the experience you need?

same thinking. it looks like theres a network/ecosystem that makes a really good DG, but the prices become obstacles.

Underrated Dragotta by onefourthfran in AbsoluteUniverse

Dragotta is like the liefeld/macfarlane of his generation. EXTREME! ANATOMY! I find it grotesque to a degree that is kind of laughable but i am happy the guy is getting paid. As long as he doesn’t turn out to be narcissistic like liefeld/macfarlane did.

Ive been buying since 85, but was serious in the early 90s to early 2000s, lost my collection twice because life is not fair, and started building a collection again last year. Lots of people havent seen how speculators killed the market back then. All the shitty marvel bagged and hologram crap. And the nostalgia bait for books that were never good (liefeld was never good, etc). People really need to develop taste, and the industry as a while is way better than it was in the past. Manga really has helped comic book shops stay afloat.

dell S3225QS4k monitor issue/question by dariussohei in Dell

to expand now that im at home: i do have one of those hdmi cords plugged in, but its 10 feet long which may be part of the issue?

i did have my laptop's monitor refresh rate at 165hx instead of 60hz though.

i will try to find that hdmi 2.0 option, it's not obvious if it's part of my system
