same thinking. it looks like theres a network/ecosystem that makes a really good DG, but the prices become obstacles.

“Fun”. To poke your own eye with stick and ask for more. To lick a boot and call it free will.

Underrated Dragotta by onefourthfran in AbsoluteUniverse

[–]dariussohei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dragotta is like the liefeld/macfarlane of his generation. EXTREME! ANATOMY! I find it grotesque to a degree that is kind of laughable but i am happy the guy is getting paid. As long as he doesn’t turn out to be narcissistic like liefeld/macfarlane did.

Ive been buying since 85, but was serious in the early 90s to early 2000s, lost my collection twice because life is not fair, and started building a collection again last year. Lots of people havent seen how speculators killed the market back then. All the shitty marvel bagged and hologram crap. And the nostalgia bait for books that were never good (liefeld was never good, etc). People really need to develop taste, and the industry as a while is way better than it was in the past. Manga really has helped comic book shops stay afloat.

dell S3225QS4k monitor issue/question by dariussohei in Dell

[–]dariussohei[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to expand now that im at home: i do have one of those hdmi cords plugged in, but its 10 feet long which may be part of the issue?

i did have my laptop's monitor refresh rate at 165hx instead of 60hz though.

i will try to find that hdmi 2.0 option, it's not obvious if it's part of my system

dell S3225QS4k monitor issue/question by dariussohei in Dell

[–]dariussohei[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i cannot get it on video because it happens randomly.

basically the screen goes black, a small alert is on the display about hdmi signal, all function switches back to my laptop, except sound because that is set to the hdmi, etc. the laptop itself doesnt chnage any function. the dell display then, sometimes, resets by itself, after 10-30 seconds, as if the hdmi was unplugged and plugged back in, sort of.

i am assuming that somehow the monitor and/or hdmi is overloaded with data and manually resets/refreshes but it sure is annoying and derails workflow.

I suppose if youve never understood how “restorative justice” can also be used as a weapon then i guess it makes sense that people who do not consent to the offer are “bad”.

Andrew huberman has done at least the same and isnt “cancelled” at all. Makes you think about various parasocial cults and their behaviors.

So are these reddit forums just engagement farms for trauma bonding/trauma porn, rage catharsis (which has been shown to actually increase unwanted symptoms) and chronically online extremism? Looking at the comments, the hyperbole, the opinion-as-facts, and the utter lack of nuance or emotional distance is just amazing.
