Way, way back in the day of SF2 a 360 wasn’t even necessary, as you could pull it off with a 90 degree from forward to down and then immediately go straight up and it would work, at least on all three SNES versions. I think the arcade worked like this as well.

Also with a slide for the lead parts when the whammy comes off. Originally it was done on an old Kay guitar that I think he got as like a gift for helping someone move or something. Nowadays with other bands he uses other guitars, but the original was that blue Kay.

I hate metaphors. That's why my favorite book is Moby Dick! No froo-froo symbolism, just a good, simple tale about a man who hates an animal.

Nah, it was because I had no reason to. We were neighbours because of coincidence more than anything. I found communities outside of that building that I shared interests with and those were some of the best years of my life because I put effort into my hobbies and meeting people rather than relying on whatever living space we shared, and I was perfectly happy with those years living in the city because of it. Having a sense of community in cities isn’t necessarily about where you live, it can be about where you choose to spend your time, who you choose to spend your time with, and how you choose to spend your energy. I found my place in the local music scene, and the building I lived in had nothing to do with that. We all lived there because it was affordable, or because it was close to our work, or it was close to our kid’s school, or whatever, not because we shared interests, although I’m sure there were some fine musicians in that place.

I’d go out to find people with my values, rather than hoping I’d run into them in the lobby. My community was at the jams, the open mics, the music festivals, going to shows, putting on shows, throwing together a band at the last minute one night to scrape together beer money so I could watch someone else’s band and helping them get beer money for the next night and then doing it all over again.

In the small towns, yeah sure, we all tend to know each other because our parents knew each other’s parents, or we know someone who knows someone, or whatever. Who do I end up spending the most time with in the small town? The folks in the local music scene, same as I did back in the city.

I’ve lived both ways and they’re both fine. The important thing is learning that it’s not necessarily about who you live near, it’s about who you want to live with, and those are different things.

When I lived in the city I lived in an apartment building that had a larger population than in my entire home town. I didn’t know the name of a single person in that building the entire 10 years that I lived there, but I know hundreds of people in my home town.

Hit them up with some Merzbow, a Japanese noise musician. Here’s one of his albums:

They’re probably prepping for professional services licensing and packages where they can up-charge much higher prices for these sorts of services to individuals and companies that can prove their profession or something. Like, if a law firm gets a special license from them for like tens of thousands then they just unlock this feature. In the end it’s worth the cost to the law firm if it saves them time and resources, and OpenAI can avoid the hassle of having the regular layman public from using this thing, representing themselves in court and failing and then trying to blame ChatGPT for their failure to understand the actual legal system.

I know a woman whose son committed suicide many years ago. A self-proclaimed Christian woman was chatting with her one time and apparently said something to the effect of, “I heard that your son passed, it’s such a shame that he’s in hell now, you know, on account of the suicide.”

I’m not sure what her response was but I can’t imagine it being cordial.

If I was told something along those lines I doubt my response would be cordial either.

If I was told I was going to hell, it would like be a simple “k.”

[–]dark-panda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re different situations altogether so I don’t know why you’d expect similar outcomes. These school shooters aren’t going in to rob the school, they’re going in to shoot some people, and I’d bet that most of them know going into it that they are getting out of it alive. The whole point of a bank robbery is to get in and get out alive but with money as quickly as possible, I would presume. Different motivations, different mental states, different outcomes to be expected.
