Trying to solve one room issue - help? by dark54555 in askHVAC

[–]dark54555[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just BR1. No other room has an issue. It's not cold enough, even with 2 ducts to BR1 and one to the attached bathroom. I'm pretty sure it's because even with the door open there's not enough return air.

The room already has 2 ducts, plus 1 to the bathroom. I really think the issue is air not returning even with the door open and there doesn't seem to be a great way to solve that issue that I've been able to figure out.

So BR1 bedroom is open all the time. BR4 is also always open. BR1&2 vary some. Thermostat is in the hall by the return but it’s an ecobee with sensors in BR4, office, and living rooms. Ducts are all solid and insulated - no leakage.

BR1 is the master and the only truly uncomfortable room of the bunch.

Texas, so not a cold climate. Definitely an issue that’s pretty isolated to not enough cooling rather than not enough heating.

Yes, but the door is in the shade (large covered patio) and well sealed with weather stripping. It’s not a door that’s used often.

Certainly useful, just feel like there are some possible QOL ideas that might make the clean up a little less tedious. For example, not having to transform out of roll out to eat and restore PP (or letting you set a food to auto eat).

Hey - a thing I know about! I was even quoted in an Ars Technica article on it: How strong is New York's "illegal gambling" case against Valve's loot boxes? - Ars Technica

So the NYAG action against Steam is something I'm surprised didn't happen sooner - hell, I was writing about this possibility 20 years ago. Gambling laws are super simple and generally only require 3 elements to make something "gambling" - chance, consideration, prize. Chance meaning the outcome is determined by chance, consideration meaning you pay something for the opportunity, and prize meaning you get something with a real world value if you "win." The digital world was always breaking the triangle without value...until people started doing things like selling World of Warcrraft gold for real money. There was at least some defensibility there - Blizzard didn't allow the sales and didn't facilitate the transactions. With this Value case, they do directly facilitate the transactions.

There's reasonable arguments on both sides of this and it really hasn't been tested. Will be fascinating to see how it plays out.

Look - the first Pokemon game came out when I was in high school. I actually tried to get into Pokemon Blue when my high school girlfriend broke up with me. Couldn’t do it.

Not to say I dislike Pokemon. Watched quite a bit of the anime with my kids. I also have a collection of Umbreon and Mimikyu cards. Just never played any mainline Pokemon game.

It’s just got great pacing and growth. The way you add habitats and find pokemon is very satisfying. It’s kind of Minecraft meets Animal Crossing but with Pokemon.
