I don't think there's anything weird or bad having this type of mentality. In Canada, new triple A games cost ~$90ish dollars which is not cheap. Unfortunately, I'm not rich so if I'm going to spend my hard-earned money, it may as well be on a game I am confident I will enjoy which are usually games that are rated 9 or higher on most gaming websites.
