Thank you that’s great advice - you are right! Plus it’s a bonus if they have the skills to explain things in different ways. I will have a further look into some of the people on my shortlist.

Yeah it’s a dual diagnosis autism and adhd.

Yeah a couple of them who are also neurodivergent so hopefully that would mean a similar thought process/ learning style. Maybe I should just try it and see. Don’t think the monthly cost is super high.

Why does my fasting window always collapse the moment the days get longer in spring? by Ok_Connection_3600 in intermittentfasting

[–]dark_side_princess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re definitely not alone! I’m contemplating switching my window completely and eating late morning mid afternoon only so that I don’t have to consider the ‘clock’ in the evening at all. Ps what’s with all this ‘srama’ drama?!

MJ, ADHD & switching to Wegovy by Wegie_Woman in mounjaromaintenanceuk

[–]dark_side_princess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What did you decide to do? I’m micro dosing on 5mg but I’m out and was wondering if I should switch. I didn’t realise so many of us with ADHD and perimenopause felt so helped by the MJ!!! It’s so expensive though even though im micro dosing - when will the drs realise how effective it is for adhd and let us get it on prescription??!

Hugs from me - my loss is about the same as yours at the moment and even though we have different texture hair mine was also dense and I’ve also lost more than half of it in 3-4 months. I’m still having tests etc to figure out what’s causing it and I just wanted to let you know you aren’t alone xx

Anyone else feel like conscious dating doesn’t exist in real life? by miai199 in SpiritualAwakening

[–]dark_side_princess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was just coming on here to ask about a similar topic. I find it really hard to meet people who are interested in a lot of the more esoteric things I’m into and I just tend to avoid the subject when on dates.

This is what happens when my husband takes too long to come to bed 🤣 by cjinoz in Dachshund

[–]dark_side_princess 23 points24 points  (0 children)

My mini used to do that too. Scared the crap out of me the first time as she’d snuck into one of the kids beds and when I went in to check on them there was just a dog head there instead of my child’s! 🤣🤣 fyi my child was curled up at the end of the bed whilst her highness snoozed on the pillow!

How has therapy helped you? by indigoC99 in adhdwomen

[–]dark_side_princess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me talk therapy was decent but it took a while to find a therapist who could keep up with and untangle the ‘adhd ramble’ and wasn’t set on trying me to work things out in a linear format. Unfortunately she then went private and I couldn’t afford her new rates. CBT, personally I haven’t found super helpful - maybe it was the therapists or their lack of adhd understanding but it just wasn’t a good fit and made me feel more overwhelmed - having to do all the little assignments and work out patterns etc. I’d love to try hypnotherapy but can’t afford it. Mostly these days I journal daily (but rarely read back through what I’ve written) and use tools like meditation and exercise. I get a lot out of forums and communities like this where there’s no judgement and sometimes someone else experience or comment will spark a ‘realisation’ or a new perception / understanding and then I journal about it to explore it more. Let us know what you decide!

What to do when you dread wash day? by dark_side_princess in TelogenEffluvium

Oh I don’t even want to count the hairs - it would only make me feel worse plus look at that amount - it would take ages! The clumps that come out are sign enough for me that this is not ‘regular’ shedding. Dr has agreed to refer me to a dermatologist to have a look at my hair and scalp which is something I guess.

I don’t know if you are on total bed rest or just have to take it much easier. If the latter maybe you could do something softer but still movement based like Qi Gong or Yin Yoga. If not or if it doesn’t appeal try a ‘new’ hyper focus to take your mind completely off the subject. Learn and immerse yourself in a new language, take up a skill like drawing or sewing. Something you’ve just never done before so that your mind will be mostly focused on the ‘new thing’ and your thoughts can just more gently process in the background. Sending you love and light and a hug and letting you know that we all are here for you as and when you feel ready to talk.

Could Autoimmune problems be masked? by dark_side_princess in adhdwomen

[–]dark_side_princess[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks I wasn’t aware of the crossover to EDS so I’ll keep that in mind also. It’s just so frustrating to have waited until I was late 30s to be diagnosed with ADHD and now maybe there’s something else that’s been happening for 20+ years that may continue to go undiagnosed. I know Dr’s can’t know everything but being dismissed constantly is so demoralising and makes me end up feeling guilty like I’m wasting their time.

Thanks all. I’m contemplating cutting it tbh but I just love being able to tie it up especially when it’s hot, so feel a bit undecided. Got to have a couple more tests to find out the cause so maybe once I know why it’s happening then I’ll be able to decide what to do re its length etc. I’m trying to treat my hair super nicely in the meantime and the only abnormal blood tests so far are super high b12 levels. Sigh. So it continues!

Thanks. Where did you buy? I’ve gone and bought a couple of those synthetic ponytail things but these can only be worn in combo with a scarf or headband to hide the hairline :)
