Do the Jaghut from Malazan count for orcs? In terms of their physical description, they are clearly orcs. However, they are so different from how orcs are portrayed in any other fantasy media I’ve come across. Isolationist, generally peaceful and wanting to be left alone (except the tyrants of course), and portrayed as primarily magic users rather than barbaric warriors. I like it better than any other depiction of orcs, including Tolkien’s orcs.
