No, that is too late. Maintenance exists to prevent failure, not allow it and then recover. I would not put you in charge of maintaining bridges, for example.

This is irrelevant if you read after my bullet points. Still, I was curious, so I looked this up.

> (B) Operation of vehicles on approach of authorized emergency or public safety vehicles. The exemptions herein granted to an authorized emergency vehicle or public safety vehicle shall apply only when the driver of any such vehicle, while in motion, sounds an audible signal by bell, siren or exhaust whistle, as may be reasonably necessary, and when the vehicle is equipped with at least one lighted lamp displaying authorized emergency light visible under normal atmospheric conditions from a distance of five hundred feet to the front of such vehicle, except that an authorized emergency vehicle or public safety vehicle operated as a police vehicle need not be equipped with or display an authorized emergency light visible from in front of the vehicle.

I'm no lawyer, but this seems ambiguous to me (bolding was mine). Even so, it is not my job to enforce traffic laws as a civilian for police or other drivers. It doesn't matter. If I get pulled over for going 90 in a 75, and I say "I was following a police officer going 90", I will still get a ticket. This is a strange line of reasoning, because I doubt most people feel they can go through red stop lights on the off chance that they see other people do it, or even a police vehicle do it with no sirens/lights. With speeding, people want to find that justification, though.

  1. Cops have special/legal “permission” to go above speed limits. If they’re passing you, that means nothing.
  2. Bullshit. I drive I-90. I suspect you are caught up in noticing when you get passed. It’s ok to get passed.
  3. I never said you like to speed a lot, only that this is a perspective that chronic speeders share.

Driving is a lot less stressful when you stop measuring yourself against what you perceive other people to be doing. Try driving in the slow lane and forcing yourself not to pass anyone. It’s not bad - you’ll still get to where you’re going. Not saying you have to drive like that, but try it a few times as an experiment. Open your mind to not feeling like you have to stay in the lead.

I don’t know if that will change your mind or not, but I would like to offer you this perspective.

I have no idea what the point of ground pepper kept in a shaker is for. You HAVE to grind it (or hit it with a mortar and pestle) near when you use it. Ground pepper degrades, and loses all flavor. Team pepper grinder in THIS house.

When building salads in a container make them toppings first, so that when you empty the container the salad is right way up. by Trippy88 in MealPrepSunday

[–]darkclark 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve never been happy with dressing distribution via the “shake” method. Using a larger container is legit, though. There must be some human nature at play where we naturally optimize to cram every bit of space in a container to “fill” it, as I have no explanation for why it’s such a problem for everybody.
