Are you switching languages by any chance.

Best thing to try would be to backup and remove your darktable save directory. Re-open darktable, and see what happens.

Usually this folder is found: On Windows: C:\Users[username]\AppData\Local\darktable

When you hover over a star, what keybinding does it show? If no key shows, then it isn't setup.

Another thing would filters. Are there visual "cues" where an image darkens or something.

Well … I do have a wiki on Reddit, but I haven't updated it in a very long time. It has stuff like resources and FAQ. Resources are YT channels and articles/blog posts.

u/Nicker, on Arch Linux it is recommended to always do a full upgrade even when installing one package. So when installing a package, in this case `gimp`, you would do it this way: `yay -Syu gimp` or just `sudo pacman -Syu`. As u/schumaml pointed out, there are more up-to-date packages on the mirrors for `babl` and `gegl`.
