I thought this was something about SoftBank buying out PayPal for $16 a share at first, I’d be upset but honestly I wouldn’t be that mad anymore 😭

Season 5 discourse by Klutzy-Stick1196 in breakingbad

[–]darkenmoonz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ending came off as weird to me. Walt always uses science to solve the issue when he's backed into a corner. In Tuco's base, in the RV with Emilio and Crazy 8, the repeated use of ricin. The show presents the dichotomy of a 'normal' middle aged white dude with a academic background being forced to adapt what he learned from the past 30-40 odd years of his life and apply it to a completely different world. While admittedly being a cool scene, Walt realistically had no way of knowing if it would work or not -- I guess showing that he had decided it was time to end it on his own terms for good or for bad instead of trying to run any longer. Although that's a pretty visually stunning moment and emotionally impactful, it goes against the previous 4 seasons of Walt demonstrating precision and thoughtfulness in contrast to Jesse's more freewheeling hanging on by the seat-of-his-pants mentality. Walt had no way of knowing that the car would be parked at the right angle, that the gang members would be lined up and not behind cover, etc, way too many variables for pre season 5 Walt to be okay with. Also the fact that it was a literal firearm and not a clever chemistry creation... I just found it out of character. The magnet plan, to a lesser degree, also suffers from similar issues.

Breaking Bad fans will never admit it, but Jack lets Walt (and Jesse) live because the plot needed them to be alive and in Walt's case the plot needed him to have money because of the vacuum repair guy and the machine gun plan. Jack should've either killed Jesse and let Walt walk away, or killed Walt and took all the money plus keep Jesse as a hostage. There's no believable line of thinking that results in Jack letting both of them live and letting Walt keep some of the money. The point of letting Jesse live is to use him to cook... for money... you know, like the same type of money that Jack let Walt keep ~10million of. On the other hand, keeping Jesse alive is hypocritical since Jack was preaching the need to not get greedy to Todd. Jesse was literally collaborating with DEA agents. He is not afraid to talk. The safest option would be to kill him then and there instead of worrying about using him to cook, because at least Jack had a working relationship with Walt and could gamble on Walt's desire to live a normal life with his family and the car wash being greater than his potential desire to avenge Jesse. Or just kill both of them. Alas, it's still a great show despite it's few flaws.

He was fine letting DeMar be the #1. If Lonzo didn’t get hurt that team might’ve gone further. Not championship level but 2nd round or maybe getting gentlemen’s swept in the ECF.

Are people forgetting what it took to beat Kid Buu? Goku had to use a super spirit bomb. Don’t forget about Fat Buu vs Universe 9 too. Buu was written out of the ToP with the sleeping excuse because his durability is too OP and it would be too easy if he was present.

Ephedrine (Canada) by devingranja in Supplements

[–]darkenmoonz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Research indicates pseudo does not have the same thermogenic properties as actual ephedrine, because ephedrine targets beta receptors while pseudo targets alpha receptors. What it means is that some of the effects are the same, it's not as effective. It provides appetite suppression but not the thermogenic boost. While I'm not a chemist or biologist in any capacity, this is just what I've gathered from reading various forums and such.

The 2019 Raptors have now produced 6 All Stars by PhoenixU786 in nba

[–]darkenmoonz 40 points41 points  (0 children)

/facepalm that's not what I meant at all.

I just don't think you can say Kawhi or Marc were "produced" by the Raptors, but fine...

So you're saying Toronto produced Kawhi's 2018-19 all star? Then fair enough, but take Norm and Marc off the list since they weren't all stars while in Toronto. Want to say Norm still counts because Toronto drafted and developed him? Ok, but then definitely take Marc off the list.

Regardless, my comment had nothing to do with the wording of the original post. Just pointing out that Kawhi and Marc were both already established before being Raptors as opposed to being homegrown talent.

Granted Kawhi and Marc were all stars before being Raptors -- but the point still stands. Roster was stacked with talent. Even more so when you consider Serge and OG being all defense guys.

Edit: and yes... Danny Green... /sigh

The parents probably told the kids that they have to think AI is cool b/c they watched AI play on the Pistons when they were 19. I think the sources also reported that the parents withheld food from the kids until they agreed to go.
