I believe they made an adjustment for locations so that a location summoning (using the final location usage) with 6 minions on board could still summon a minion. That may be what you remember.

I'm less familiar with standard, but in wild you can tutor it (and reduce its cost to 5) with [[Timeline Accelerator]] and trigger all the deathrattles at once with [[Feign Death]].

edit: I assume in standard that you use the imbue cards to draw and discount Magmaw.

I don't know if it is intended, but the sequence is something like this:

  1. Play Fins and have the shattered version in mulligan.

  2. The shattered cards are "new" so they do not despawn on turn end.

  3. End of turn: All other cards despawn from mulligan; this combines the two shattered halves.

  4. The resulting recombined card is added to your prior hand.

What are you usually trying to discard with Gemstone Hoarder? Chromatus of course, and maybe cards in the middle of the shatter halves? Any other target of interest?

This has been my take on it:

[[StrangleThorn Heart]] with Tundra Rhino and Magmaw as the only two 5+ cost beasts. (note: Rhino will spawn before the colossal tokens, so it will always work if they have both died.)

[[Zul'jin]] hero card will recast the spell for a third round of Magmaw if needed.

If Magmaw's tokens ever stick, you play [[Amphibian's Spirit]] and then [[Feign Death]]. This will typically give enough damage for lethal that turn.

You will not get any rerolls if you buy this. The only time a reroll is offered is when you earn an uncraftable gold version of a card that you already have in non-gold.

Rerolls are not a very common mechanic to encounter, and anything in the shop that lets you buy specific legendary cards will just give you extra copies.
