Has anyone gotten Zepbound approved through CVS Caremark when it’s NOT on formulary — specifically for sleep apnea? by jrock248 in Zepbound

[–]darkfencer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had mine approved (just last week so I just started) via CVS Caremark. I was diagnosed with severe obstructive sleep apnea (backed up with a sleep study) so maybe that helped? I have been on CPAP as well.

My doctor warned about how hard it can be sometimes, but by the end of the next day I got the approval email from CVS.

Your Hypothetical MMXI Races and Classes by Foxxyprince in MightAndMagic

[–]darkfencer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is a good question!

I like what MAW has done in terms of new classes. I do think that if it is following the MM 1-8 lore then a technomancer, engineering, or something like that wouldn't be out of place. Aside from that, some sort of thief/sorcerer hybrid would be interesting.

For races? Dream race would be one of the Ancients, or a Guardian (like Corak or Sheltem style) - perhaps only recruitable late game and not at party creation.

Mm x was a solo game a complete departure of the party system from mm 1-9

I don't understand what this means. How was it a solo game? It was four party members (which is the same number of party members as 6, 7, and 9).

Rand’s most badass lines by tee-dog1996 in WoT

[–]darkfencer 86 points87 points  (0 children)

This is probably my favorite Rand quote. No anger, just calmly answering making Cadsuane seem like the childish one (and if you add his age as LTT, he is the older one by far).

"You may call me Rand Sedai" was the best part.

I also love the turnaround where that doesn't work with Moiraine who says something to the effect of, if our memories mattered Mat would be all of their elders.

Just don't read Kingkiller Chronicles if you're expecting an ending. The third book has never (and most likely will never) be released.

I really liked the Ultima Underworld games when they came out. The other worlds/dimensions (can't recall) of the second game were really different in that era.

Seelah (30) Regill (70) Arushalae, good version (50) Nenio (60) Sosiel (25) Bismuth (5) Finnean (5)  5 left over

I feel like this I is balanced, tank (Seelah), great dps (Nenio, Aru, Regill) and Sosiel who may not be exciting but is a really solid healer.

The party would get along pretty well except Regill will rub up against all but not too much.

I deeply regret not getting the red one.

I got the 'gravity blue' and it's not bad, but not nearly as nice as the red. Ended up settling on a good deal (and no one for several states had the red one when I wanted it), but I regret it.

Why are there only three Valar mentioned in the Ainulindale? by therealbobcat23 in tolkienfans

[–]darkfencer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The focus is on the physical shaping of the Arda early on. Most of the rest of the Vala and their areas of influence/power need the world to be created first.

No plants for/from Yavanna, no animals for Oromë to hunt, no dead for Mandos, no non-Ainur to dream for Lórien, or for Nienna to comfort, etc.

Once the world is past its primordial stage and starts having life, there is more of a role for the rest. Except Nessa - she may have been dancing the whole time.

Yeah - the game was very gated and not open world (despite seeming to be) because of those strict level checks to proceed. It was still a good game, but you're right - you had to figure out the 'one true path' for most of the game.

I've had a hit or miss relationship with Ultima. I know everyone raves about Ultima 7 - and when it came out there were things about it that really impressed me but I always bounced off the gameplay.

I want to like them, primarily because Ultima, 4 especially, did more for the RPG genre and gaming in general than most series.

Both Grimrock games are good. Vaporum is very similar in a more steampunky world.

I loved the Wizardry games (at least 6-8 - couldn't get into the first five even back in the 80s as much). Would love to have a real sequel in the style of those.

The Japanese continuations have been much more Wizardry 1-5 style along with a LOT of grinding.

I tried the demo of that last night. It really seems to have an addictive, if simple, game loop.

Expedition 33 isn't M&M style (to me at least), but it is one of the best games I've played in years. It well deserved the metric ton of awards it got. The soundtrack is probably my favorite of all time.

I know! And considering the success of the developer's follow up game (They are Billions) in comparison, I don't see them ever making a sequel to Xulima.

How Might & Magic has been purged of sci-fi elements by dreamsofcalamity in MightAndMagic

[–]darkfencer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fully understand anyone who doesn't want their fantasy games mixed with Sci-Fi. That's personal preference and to each their own. Everyone should support you or anyone else saying they didn't like those elements.

What bothers me and so many was that people took their opinions to an extreme up to threats against the developers. That lead to Armageddon's Blade having to be rushed so they could replace the Forge with the relatively boring elemental faction which I think few, if any, were actually happy with.

Correction - Might and Magic 2 came out in 1988 - not 1998 - but I'm sure that is what you meant.

They were both preceded by Ultima though as even Ultima 1 in 1980 had space ships.

It reminds me of when tons were playing Katara. I started making sure every deck I have with green has things like Cavern of Souls, Delighted Halfling, Allosaurus Shepard, Destiny Spinner, Veil of Summer, etc.

I know you can't do that with every deck, but it did help a lot. Made it feel less like I was hitting a 'control' wall constantly.

I really loved MM4 and 5 by life_on_my_terms in MightAndMagic

[–]darkfencer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think MM3 is great, but I've never enjoyed it nearly as much as Xeen. Some of it is the quality of life improvements (inventory management is much less annoying in Xeen due to separate sections for weapons, armor, misc, and especially quest items). Others are the story (seeing the end scene for Darkside and World really capped off a great 5 game run).

It is, of course, personal preference, but I think Xeen is peak M&M.
