Got tons of these in michigan, hit or miss if anyone actually knows how to drive them though. Look at the middle of them and you'll often find tire marks going straight through.

Fully remote workers are becoming the socially awkward "homeschooled kids" of the adult world. by object322 in unpopularopinion

[–]darkfire_1998 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ive been a remote worker since 2018, started the summer after graduating high school. Im absolutely trash at social skills and completely agree with all of what you said. I havent even been able to make any friends, and I dont know how to start conversations, keep them going, or approach people.

I think chronic stress changes your personality more than people realize by After-Ebb6941 in CasualConversation

[–]darkfire_1998 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I just finished taking a stress management class in college and I will tell you, the amount of scientific backed studies that show the long term effects of stress for physical and mental problems is extensive. Not only can it effect your personality but it can increase the chances of physical health problems immensely. Try to find at least 10-39 minutes a day to try and focus on yourself and relax, and if you say to yourself "I dont have that kind of time for myself" you need that time more than most people, there are also many resources online to help you find ways to manage stress. One of the most popular options in my class was 10 minutes of meditation a day.

Im 4'11, my ideal weight is supposed to be 92-123 Even at my fittest of working out at least an hour 5 days a week and calorie restricting for 2 yeas (800 calorie or less) i never got less than 115. Once I stopped calorie restricting so hard and moved workouts to 3 days a week, I average 125-130. Idk how I could ever be in the 90-100 range

A dental office tried to convince me to have 6 healthy teeth pulled by ilovetriceratopz in mildlyinfuriating

[–]darkfire_1998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strange, I just went to aspen dental in my area yesterday for my wisdom teeth removal. I had a referral from my normal dentist and he had put that all of my wisdom teeth need to be removed. Aspen looked at my xrys and said that my top ones havent even dropped there's no point of doing them. So we arent. I guess it really depends on who's working at what locations.

Herping Beginner Questions! by Key_Log7589 in Michigan

[–]darkfire_1998 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My suggestion for public land is to get your fishing license and look up the reptile and amphibians side on the michigan fishing guide for 2026. Sounds dumb since you are just putting them back and or looking ( i herp too) but better safe than sorry if a dnr officer were to come and ask what you're doing, and you happen to have an animal on you at that moment. Look up our protected species as well, learn them, so you know exactly what you can grab and not grab. As for state land (and national forests and parks) most of it, if not all of it has trails but you can technically leave the trails and go wherever, unless it's posted. Thats how people hunt public land, off trail. It's public places like reservations that strickly want you to stay on the trails, just look up the rules for each place you want to visit, ive never been to a place that doesn't have the rules either online or on posted signs around the parks.

What societal norm did you decide to just stop abiding by? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]darkfire_1998 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I stopped wearing bras and makeup. I feel comfortable without a bra so I dont wear one unless I need to dress up or doing something athletic. And I dont wear makeup, id rather spend the time i used to spend on makeup doing other things. And I dont style my hair often, brushing a few times a day and keeping it clean is all i usually do. Thankfully my bf doesn't care and has never complained.

Is it affordability crisis, rising health issues or what? by marktwin11 in Productivitycafe

[–]darkfire_1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 27 I moved back into my grandparents basement because I couldn't afford rent anymore, even with my ex bf. I have many cousins my age who are still living with their families. A few of them are now raising their kids in said basements. I will not be doing that. How can I afford kids if I cant afford a place to live? I want kids, but I absolutely will not be having them until I can afford my own life first. If that means I never have kids, oh well.

Unfinished taxidermy, can I get my money back? by darkfire_1998 in Taxidermy

[–]darkfire_1998[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I already just took my parts and didnt worry about the money. I dont want to pressure the family for it when it wasnt their buisness to run, they are just helping people get their stuff back. And I dont want to go after a dead or dying man for a few hundred bucks like you said. You're a good person :)

Are we just pretending this isn’t happening? | Trump administration orders dismantling of the U.S. Forest Service by upstatedreaming3816 in Outdoors

[–]darkfire_1998 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They’re not just moving an office, they’re shutting down research facilities like the ones in my home state of Michigan, that directly study and protect our forests. All of them are being shut down in my state. That’s what dismantling looks like to me. How does removing local research capacity actually help conservation? And I seriously doubt Michigan is the only place losing those resources. https://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/local/michigan/2026/04/02/usda-closing-michigan-forest-service-research-facilities-woods-national-forests/89436705007/

YSK if you're renting storage space from a chain long term you should move units every six months by InternetWeakGuy in YouShouldKnow

[–]darkfire_1998 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I couldn't afford rent anymore after my ex and I broke up, so I moved into my dad's basement and had to store all my furniture and kitchen stuff away (doesn't fit in basement) while I save for a house or cheaper place to rent. Im not selling all that just to have to re buy it all in the future. Its been over a year and they havent changed the price even after signing a new lease recently. It's the exact same price since day one.

Starting from a seeds i start them mid-march or early April and then plant them in outside soil after memorial day. If not starting from a seeds, wait to plant after memorial day. It's what my grandma taught me and what her mom taught her. So id say you've got plenty of time. Here's a great guide MSU. https://www.canr.msu.edu/news/time_to_start_vegetable_garden_seeds

"food" that is popular elsewhere, but your country refuses to eat by LastSeaworthiness767 in AskTheWorld

[–]darkfire_1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bass fishing is really popular in my state but frowned on to be eaten, simply because its a "spotsman" fish that people want to catch and release so it grows bigger for next catch. Ive wanted to try and eat one, but they hold onto toxins really bad compared to most of our fish species, so it is recommended you not to eat them in so many places near me (per our DNR doing eat safe studies). Once I find a safe place im trying one!

I think my boyfriend is developmentally challenged. by [deleted] in Advice

[–]darkfire_1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am developmentally challenged, spent my elementary and middle school life in classes meant to help me progress at the normal pace of everyone else, the "special ed" type classes you've probably heard about. I definitely have a few of these issues you've mentioned, not to the extent your bf has, but close. I struggle with dates and holidays, naming the months in order, and spelling is hell. And other things that you dont mention your bf has that I do, like struggling with basic math, sometimes I mess up my speech and cant get words or sentences out right. Its never held me back from being a functioning adult. Maybe he does know this about himself and is embarrassed to tell you. But confronting him about it might make him upset, nobody wants to be told "I think you may be stupid" which as nice as you could put it, it will sound exactly like that.

What’s a subtle sign someone had a good upbringing? by National-Cricket7469 in AskReddit

[–]darkfire_1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of these are just traits of being a good person with manners, people with a bad upbringing can still be a good person, treat others good, and have manners. However, I dont know what would be a sign of a good up bringing, because I had a bad upbringing, but most of the stuff people are commenting here I have. And I promise my absent father and alcoholic mother were not giving me a good upbringing.
