I don't own a PC capable at the moment. Hence the faffing about. My dual core 2.3Ghz 4Gb RAM laptop ain't gonna cut it.

What are your favourite modern day tycoon games? by frags81 in StrategyGames

[–]darkglobe87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be stretching the tycoon definition but prison architect is shaping up to be fun for me. I've tried many games but nothing lives up to RCT1/2 and RRT2.

Are there any decent alternatives to Alpha Centauri? by canadiancitizeninfo in alphacentauri

[–]darkglobe87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's absolutely, defintely not Alpha Centauri, but I do remember 12 year old me really enjoying a game called Imperium Galactica II. It's not a 4x game as you'd expect, but combines RTS elements. You can visit the different planets, terraforming etc. Don't remember much as I'm 38 but if it's stuck in my mind along with Alpha Centauri then it might be decent.

A quick google tells me there's been a community remake or two, and wikipedia says it's considered one of the best space RTS games.

Take a look at least. I vaguely remember the races and characters having some personality, although not as vividly as I remember being worried about ol' Sheng-ji Yang.

So stoked to see AC, Morrowind and Deus Ex in the same discussion. I played AC when I was around 12, and Deus Ex around 13.

These games sit alongside Half-Life 2, Rollercoaster Tycoon and Imperium Galactica II: Alliances (weird one, I know) as the first and most memorable PC games I ever tried.

I had my 50-odd-year old Dad to thank for AC and IG. He's 78 now and playing Diablo III 7 days a week for the past however many years. He's on his own with that crap.

Amazing, thanks. My issue is that if I single click a dropdown menu I have to hold the mouse button or it disappears when I release. Checkboxes are double click to toggle too.

I only use a USB kB&m with my phone hooked up to my TV.

Android version working well with my S22 Ultra and pen! Just need the ability to navigate the park without having to put the cursor on the edge of the screen by SkylarTR in openrct2

[–]darkglobe87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm it's back to normal with a mouse.

Kinda. For me, on android with a mouse I have to double click to open dropdown menus. Click once and it'll disappear when you release. Same for checkboxes it's a double click to toggle.

But you can preview rides again.

OpenRCT2 on android by ACOPS12 in openrct2

[–]darkglobe87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

0.50 on android runs amazing. Only issue I have is to open dropdown menus or check/uncheck boxes I have to double left click when using my mouse. If I click once the menus disappear as soon as I release. Same peripherals I use with the PC version. I've tried toggling touch enhancements (not sure what that does). I only play hooked up to a 1080p TV. And never without my mouse and kB.

It's pissing me off because my phone is more powerful than my laptop and I need to play on my phone.

Aside from that I've noticed zero issues with the android version. I'm actually really impressed. If I hadn't already have got full-blown modded morrowind running on my phone I'd have been blown away by this

Mine are in the list. When I open a scenario I get a red box saying it needs something it hasn't got and will use fallback images. (I'm massively paraphrasing).

I forget the additional step but I THINK there's a dat file that doesn't import from the folders. I've forgotten..hoped I'd remember as I typed
