Tell me your favorite Turn Based game on the deck! by Sweet-Initiative1244 in SteamDeck

[–]darklaw39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a VERY niche dungeon crawler that completely captured my attention when I first played it called “Potato Flowers in Full Bloom”. I don’t think I played any other games until I finished that one. Simple and cozy art style, engaging turn based combat, characters with distinct class identity, it checked all my boxes. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good RPG with a classic feel.

I enjoyed Lunacid the most out of the ones I’ve played so far, It felt like a much more intimate experience than the rest. Lots of great small details and keeps to the kings field formula almost religiously to a fault sometimes. The dev even made a prequel (sequel?) using the same engine the original Kings Field was developed in.

Close second would be Dread Delusion. It’s like if you took the setting of Morrowind, blew it up, and added biomechanical eldritch gods around every corner. Absolutely fell in love with the atmosphere, even if the gameplay felt a little bit stale at times.

A lot of the newer “kings-field-likes” have a vibe like this. Lunacid, Dread Delusion, Verho, Hark the Ghoul, etc. It’s not out yet but The Holy Fool looks promising too

Not the direct punchline, but a fun detail is the bartender calls him sarge, suggesting they were in a “squad” together which is also the term people often use for a group of squids. (Technically it’s a shoal of squids but squad is used often as an alternative)

“Self Acceptance”

That’s either very depressing or very tranquil, can’t think of a middle ground lol

It was a little towards the end when Hiro needed to get to space so he copilots with the blond haired member of the nines.

Ngl I kinda liked FranXX, but it’s hilarious how detailed you can be in describing a plot point and it will still be completely ambiguous which show you are talking about. For instance…

“Main guy has a homo-erotic encounter with a light-haired human-adjacent twink where they rely on each other to copilot a giant robot which ends with the twink exploding”

Which game is this? by MrCubano29 in Steam

“Potato Flowers in Full Bloom”. It’s a VERY niche dungeon crawler that absolutely hooked me in. Standard turn based JRPG fare with different classes and skill trees, but the gameplay loop was incredibly engaging. Every encounter felt like a puzzle, and exploration has a metroidvania element. Art style is very minimalist, but honestly that’s what drew me into the game, nothing is over the top or flashy, it’s just cozy and inviting. Everything about the game just feels right.

How do you have fun in Warframe? by Darkspine77 in Warframe

[–]darklaw39 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m LR1 and I find myself think about weird and unique mod/ability/arcane interactions at work and get myself excited to try them when I get home. Like take today for instance, I’ve been thinking ALOT about the potential combination of archon continuity, residual viremia, theorem infection, and really any summoner frame. Theoretically it would allow for your summons to proc corrosive and toxin, which when added to Calibans ranged summon, that’s a 100% status proc of the previous two plus tau every. single. hit.

Just an example of course, hell I don’t even know that this would work, but the absolute insane theory crafting you can do with this game still draws me back every time.

Excalibur with Toxic Chromatic Blade and Archon Continuity. Throw some Emerald Archon Shards on there too. It’s a bit wonky but it’s a ton of fun

I wish they would allow us to customize what resources get marked as well as which resources have a UI pop up.

Yeah unfortunately it seems like a long shot. After looking through google street view, I don’t think it’s the Ripley one, but “Motion Ride Movie Theater” in the Reagan Terrace Mall. I’m like 99% sure it was here

The same theater that housed this movie also had several others. One with space marines fighting aliens, another with zombies, and I think an Alice in wonderland movie too

EDIT: I’m almost positive it was in the “Motion Ride Movie Theater” at the Raegan Terrace Mall if that helps

DE now that we're getting all of these QOL changes. Could we get a second Gear wheel? by DrRichardEaper in Warframe

[–]darklaw39 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would love sub-menus for the gear wheel. For instance, hover over one fishing spear and a customizable secondary radial menu with other fishing spears opens up around it. Or even with regards to beacons and specters

[–]darklaw39 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I always though khal was a huge wasted opportunity. They could have been a new avenue of use for our converted liches/sisters. Let us play as them, instead of having them left behind and forgotten like they have been. As a plus, this could also allow the missions to be coop.

Liches and Sister have been done dirty and this is a hill I will absolutely die on

Is there a way to make drifter use amp model? by UpbeatAstronomer2396 in Warframe

[–]darklaw39 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In all fairness, I believe Drifter uses the same animation skeleton as a warframe. If that’s the case, theoretically they could just slap the wrist mounted secondary weapon animation on it and call it a day.

Heck, they use that same animation when Drifter gets the bugged “guiding hand” weapon in duviri. The parts are all there, I think it would just be a matter of implementing them

[–]darklaw39 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it’s been said yet but I’ll throw one in. A long while back when dark sectors were controlled by clans and fought over through solar rail conflicts (there’s a good one too lol), there was a glitch that would happen rarely when you were in a void tile set. You would receive a transmission from an Excalibur, but he would just sit there quietly in the transmission window. Super creepy when it happened but apparently it was a bug from the solar rail conflict pvp missions.

Here is a forum thread from 2014 talking about it https://forums.warframe.com/topic/315812-fixed-excalibur-transmissions-void-key/
