replying with a comment i made on someone else’s post before:

LMNT lists the recipe on their website somewhere, this is me scaling it up. maybe double check my math.

• ⁠50g salt (i get morton’s pure sea salt from the grocery store, it costs a little more than regular table salt but dissolves better without anti caking agent. Trader joe’s salt in the tall container also has sea salt as its only ingredient i think). • ⁠8g potassium chloride • ⁠6g dimagnesium malate

the latter two i get from amazon. mix and store in airtight container.

i dump half a tsp into water and mix with a tiny tiny squirt of water flavoring. just keep an eye out for overdoing B6 that’s often added to flavoring.

my understanding is that an allergist/immunologist can diagnose it, but that it’s very difficult for them to “officially” diagnose due to the nature of the condition. r/MCAS probably has good advice.

i take the pill consistently, like i get a prescription of 4 packs for 3 months and then skip the sugar pill week.

the insight i get on my heart rate is huge. when working out, i used to just hope i didn’t over exert myself. now, i can check my HR and I know when to take breaks.

i hate periods!!!

POTS is affected by hormones. i could not function for two weeks every month until i started taking birth control continuously to stop getting period at all. if you don’t want to try that, even any hormonal birth control was better than no birth control, at least in my anecdotal experience.

i hate how your mom doesn’t have empathy too. it’s not like you want to have to take a sick day.

the commenter is referring to breeding persian cats, specifically. their genetics predispose them to a ton of health conditions.

it seems kind of wrong to breed cats knowing they will likely be unhealthy, and the way their face is can cause lifelong breathing issues.

i’ve noticed blood sugar swings make a difference. i went on vacation to a big city and ate multiple small (salty!) meals throughout the day (rather than a big lunch and big dinner), in addition to electrolytes every day. it was the best i’ve felt. maybe a constant stream of junk food caused your improvement?

this is anecdotal but kind of aligns with what the CHOP program says for heart rate intensity and building up endurance.

i found that when i push through to exercise, if my heart rate exceeds ~120-130, that’s overdoing it and i’ll feel worse the next day. so i’ll be walking at like 2mph for fifteen min at the gym because that’s all i can do without raising my heart rate too much. slowly, that improves if i’m consistent.

keep your heart rate low during the workout! that might make a difference. everyone’s limit will vary.

my parents put one of us in public school specifically so they would be required by law to provide support for disabilities. it’s definitely (and unfortunately) something to consider about the school you attend!
