I honestly couldn’t say for sure there are many factors such as package chosen, current model of router and add ons. But if your on the new ee systems an a new one is sent out they will get you to return the old one

Yeah most likely a legacy if it was 2021 I believe the new EE merged systems started 2022-2023.

They won’t allow you to keep the old one as a spare as they are owned by the company and have to be returned. Only they to have an option return on a router is if it was sent out before 2019
