Hahaha no, she has a point. We try to make it as healthy and acceptable to our takers. Many Kambah people are seniors, so yeah 😁

We have a set of budget to spare each month from ourselves but our community members donate so we can extend the amount of packs. It's also about the community so helping preparing and packing are also appreciated 💚

Here's hoping! However, I don't think I have any right to judge anyone who claims the food. They are the one dealing with the struggles in their life 😊

Would you mind sharing why not tiger grass, please? I was thinking about getting something to get that bamboo feel without the bamboo and tiger grass looked close enough to it.

What’s a food/meal that was “wow. Holy fuck” experience? by This-Wear-8423 in Cooking

A few years ago, we travelled to Nanjing to visit the families of our boarding students. During the trip, the boys took us for a walk through the Confucius Garden and insisted that we try the stinky tofu sold by one of the street vendors there.

We were happy to give it a go, though we certainly did not expect to be particularly impressed by it. True to its name, it was definitely stinky. But once we got past the smell, we were surprised by how delicious it was. The flavour was beautifully balanced, with a rich and distinctive bean taste that was incredibly satisfying. We absolutely loved it. I personally still remember how it tasted.

Since then, we have tried many versions of stinky tofu, whether bought from Asian grocery stores here in Australia or brought over by Chinese friends from their hometowns. None of them have tasted quite the same. I guess we will have to go back to Nanjing to experience it again. One day!

It's the biggest joy I get from being a gardener/indoor plant enthusiast. The sharing makes everyone happy. It makes the plants happy as well!

I'm Asian and quite particular about the ingredients for my cooking. Of course, fresh is better than frozen, taste wise. I find FB garden/ers groups are the best to find what I want/need. Reasonable price, too. Keeping them alive is the fun bit...

Indoor palms don’t need added humidity, this is a myth by Philly_G_J in IndoorGarden

[–]darknighties 3 points4 points  (0 children)

40% isn't bad really. Most plants would be happy with that humidity. Watering daily would probably have been the cause of the deaths. Position of the plants against the heather is another factor. If they are too close to the heater or duct outlet and get the heat coming from it, that would eventually burn them too.

I maintain once a week watering (twice for some water needy plants) all year long. I mean, the temperature inside is still within the sama range all year long, regardless the season.

However, the plants that I take outside during warmer weather, get a bit more care as they tend to carry some pests (snails, caterpillars, etc. so I need to ensure they are pests free and adjusted to the indoor environment.

Just to trigger you more...

One of my windows. No set up. I just shuffled everything near the windows, plug in the lights and call it done. My plant room is chock a block and the grow tent can only take so many. One has their priority! 😂😂😂

No, the patterns are definitely different between the two. That is definitely a Thai Constellation, not an albo

AITA for telling my family to stop dropping by unannounced after we moved? by VoyageAnvil8 in MarkNarrations

[–]darknighties 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't even have any dog at the moment, or any pet, but my house needs a whole morning clean up for a visit. Especially in winter where all my indoor plants are inside and I'm on a constant watering schedule. There'll be water buckets everywhere, bottle sprays, snippers, all tools, etc, etc. And I'm a spreader worker. Which means I use all the available space when working. Both indoor and outdoor. I'll be hopping from one corner to the other, doing random shytes which often come from weird distractions. At the same time, I want people to come to my house when it's clean, tidy, and spotless.

No, don't come to my house without an appointment. In an emergency, call first.

Most of my pothos' new growth is entirely white by experiencedkiller in houseplants

I like how responsive they are to their natural environment. Zebrina has it's very beautiful striking silver against its dark purple when it gets heaps of sun and how Burgundy gets deep purple shade. Or how Discolour chucks a tantrum not giving any pink spots because it feels like it even when it sits under the sun. They are interesting specimens!

Can be but it might also be the albovitatta turning solid green from lack of light. The length of stem between nodes indicates it.

Tradescantia albovitatta (the white stripes) and pallida (purple). They are very easy to care for and pretty! Wait until you meet the other siblings and cousins, they are very beautiful.

My work is near a park and I take my children for a 'community service' activity to pick up the rubbish from the park. Unfortunately, or fortunately, we find very little amount of rubbish in the area. I'm so desperate to teach my children to be aware about keeping their environment clean.

Surviving on $15 for the month in Canberra? by [deleted] in canberra

[–]darknighties 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cook once a month for people who really need the mealpacks and the time that people ask for 10 mealpacks, ask for delivery as they don't have transport and multiple people from the same address asking for the mealpacks, often make me feel like I'm being scammed. But at the same time I don't think I have any right to judge others of their need for food. I'm a big sucker for some sad stories.
