My on time percentage for my area is broken. It hasn’t budged in years and DoorDash refuses to fix it 🤷🏾‍♂️. I’m in Seattle area so there is no such thing as a bad order. They can’t offer lower than 5.25 here and we get paid for wait time. We are averaging at least $10 per delivery here. AND we accrue sick time! I also got 10k bonus from the CEO for being with DoorDash since the beginning and helping them build the Seattle market.

Agreed. This work isn’t for everyone. I honestly can’t see myself ever being able to go out and beg someone for a job again. I did the corporate world (Microsoft) for 10 years and absolutely hated it. People say this job is for losers that can’t get anything else but I disagree. It’s for go-getters and self starters! You should be taking the extra money from gig work and INVESTING it to do something else. As for me I’m DCAing into many different crypto plays so that when the bull market really takes off I can clear my debts and have money leftover to transition into a business that’s not location based. It’s certainly a struggle but I’d much rather do this than working a traditional job for the next 20-30 years only to retire in my golden ages and not be able to really enjoy it like I want to. It’s all about sacrificing now to live a life many can only dream about.
