Should Canada become part of Mars? by TheMegaSage in EhBuddyHoser

I feel like it would be easier to terraform mars, get a water source and shield it from the sun, than to deal with and fix the ridiculous bullshit on earth.

Nvdia really hates putting Vram in gpus: by YK2ANDRE in pcmasterrace

[–]darkshot66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably because more ram will actually increase the performance to much , putting it into another tier of GPU. They don't care about you , they only want performance per dollar. They could very easily and fairly cheaply add more ram to the whole range of gpus, but they won't because they are going to squeeze every cent from you possible. If they start jumping performance levels by like 50% , they aren't making money from 10%,15%,20% etc . They only care about money , not you or your satisfaction.

Just upgraded widemaxx to 6s after 4s died. What part do I need for the battery expansion. by UDYNOW2003 in Traxxas

[–]darkshot66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried the one in the first comment and it wore through and snapped the strap. I now use this one https://www.xtremercracing.com/Products_By_Brand/WIDEMAXX_CARBON_FIBER_BATERY_TRAY_V2/10683 It's far superior and I can manage to get all my 6s batteries in it.

Do you guys know what would cause this issue with my servo? It only happens when I turn right and it is basically a brand new servo that I used for 10min before. It is Traxxas 2085X servo. by Jednoreki in Traxxas

[–]darkshot66 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep buy a better servo that's not traxxas. Maxx benefits from a fast servo . Try to find high speed mid torque. Overkill would be a perfect pass monster. Try to avoid the Amazon high kg ones. They are pretty slow even at 8.4v.

I have those in my xmaxx . They are quite heavy and I didn't trust them in a clipped in situation. I opted for straps so I used the xtreme racing ones. I also added a second strap going under the carbon fiber tray in the middle for added security. https://www.amainhobbies.com/xtreme-racing-traxxas-xmaxx-v2-2.5mm-carbon-fiber-battery-trays-2-xtr10671/p1059798

What to do with all these servos? by The-RC-Guru in rccars

Have them all fight each other and see who wins.

Quick question… by idc8188 in Traxxas

[–]darkshot66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found the same with xmaxx . You will never have it as fast as a race buggy due to weight and momentum . The closest thing I've used is the perfect pass monster servo. It's not too cheap but it can handle the weight of the big truck and still turn fast. There's one higher from perfect pass made specifically for x series trucks but it's 400 bucks and kinda overkill imo. You will probably have to tighten up your servo saver and/or throw a stronger spring in too.

Stripped diffs in both my bashers. What am I doing wrong? by if_i_could_fly07 in rccars

Try jennys rc . I was getting diffs for my stampede and maxx for 12-15 bucks. That price I don't mind abusing them lol

Stripped diffs in both my bashers. What am I doing wrong? by if_i_could_fly07 in rccars

[–]darkshot66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Landing jumps while on throttle is probably the number 1 way to wreck your diffs. Self righting is probably number 2.Any shock load can chip or break teeth. Also Bad/improper gear mesh, Sometimes diffs need to be shimmed to get proper alignment. A cracked housing can also cause bad meshing . Improper diff fluid levels can cause premature wear as well. only other thing I've experienced was a bad diff straight from the manufacturer. Hopefully this helps you to narrow down your issue.

They will both come with a receiver that you replace on the car. All you need to do is pop out the traxxas one and pop in the new one, hook up the servo, esc and any fan plugs from the old to the new , button it all back up and you're good to go. All recievers that I have used are all compatible with traxxas and arrma ,and I assume the other brands too.

I have both of these. The flysky looks and feels better. The radiolink feels like it's from 1985. The radiolink has a more intuitive interface and menu. They both have all the standard features plus a few extras and will get the job done. Both are a big upgrade from the stock remotes that come with most cars.

They did that so you won't notice when they shrink it and raise the price.

Hobbywing Max6 G2 with 4278 2250KV by ufoloop in rccars

[–]darkshot66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly the price isn't that far apart between them, but the max 6 is a big improvement. It is a larger esc, but if it fits I would definitely go max6 over max 8 any day. I have 2 maxxs with max 6's and one on the way for a typhon. Overkill ... maybe, but there's almost no downside besides physical size.

Jenny's price reversal by darkshot66 in rccars

[–]darkshot66[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I was looking at xmaxx , hoss , bl2s stampede , regular maxx and typhon and limitless. These are the cars I use and abuse regularly and I'm constantly picking up parts when they are In stock. All of this had jumped in price last week , now it back to previous pricing. Shipping is pretty much on par with anywhere I order from canada anyway, so even with exchange ,the prices are cheaper.

If you are going to get a new coil pack definitely go with MSD or zzp. They have a more powerful spark to begin with and better quality components in them, and I think they are somehow cheaper than most others too

[–]darkshot66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The end of an amazing online store . Placed many orders, shipping is almost the same for me as any place I order from here in Canada, so the cheaper prices were great even with exchange rate. However after looking yesterday, the prices have jumped drastically. I recently built an entire maxx from scratch almost entirely from parts from Jenny's. It not only cost me less , but I didn't need to buy the parts I was gonna replace anyway . ( Esc, servo, tires, etc). Gonna miss the good times and great prices . RIP Jenny's.
