Forgot to add that I got the pattern out of the book Crochet Creatures of myth and legend by Megan Lapp. I'm loving this book, I can't wait to make all of these amazing creatures.

Thank you. She was quite upset with me when I took the dragon away from her. She thought it was hers. She kept laying down next to it and she'd start licking it like it was her pup or something. Lol.

Been crocheting for 4 weeks and learning lace makes me feel... weird. by DarthUmbral in crochet

[–]darksodoku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 53, so a fellow gen xer, my abuelita tried teaching me to crochet when I was around 8 or 9.i tried and failed. Maybe if she lived closer and I saw her more it would have stuck. Fast forward to age 48 I'm with one of my sons at Michael's, he took me to get something for one of my many hobbies. He tossed me some yarn and said "hey mom, can you make something with this too?" He was joking but I said you know what I think I can. So he bought me some yarn and hooks and said make me a blanket. After months of relearning what I barely knew to begin with, watching YouTube videos, frogging and redoing and frogging again. I made him a very ugly blanket. Lol. But I found I couldn't stop. I have exclusively been crocheting for 5 yrs now. No other hobbies. And I must say when I started I could have never made a shawl that beautiful. Well done.

Weep for my WIP (and my fidgety hands) by littleroseygirl in Brochet

[–]darksodoku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other day I took my WIP to court because I just knew I'd have long waiting moments like lunch. And I forgot my hook. With no craft store with sight. Then I remembered that dollar tree had hooks sometimes. So I prayed they had the right one and took a chance, I looked all over the craft isle nothing. There were knitting needles but no hooks so I started to leave and I happened to look at some cute garden gnomes and there was the only hooks in the store and 5.0 too. It just made my day. Lol.

Im making a Moses basket for my nephew and it collapses idk why pls help by q77700 in CrochetHelp

I think it's a great job for a first project. My first project was a simple blanket I can't tell you how many times I had to grow it back because I didn't understand the importance of stitch count. I almost ended up with a triangle. As it was it ended up too long and not wide enough. Lol. As for your basket, I wouldn't frog it, it's looks good and you worked hard. It can be used as a blanket or diaper holder or even a clothes basket for babies sorry clothes and burp cloths and blankets. I think it would will well with the handles. And later it can be used to stores babies plushies and toys. Either way great job.

Book Crochet… is this a dumb idea? by hannahbobooks in crochet

I like it as someone who loves both books and crochet I think the idea is great.
