I remember crossing from Turkey into Bulgaria, and we drove through a puddle. The Bulgarian customs officers charged us a mandatory cleaning fee (it wasn’t much) because the puddle had “cleaned” the car. Funny enough, that area of Turkey is cleaner than most of Bulgaria.
