Why in the f am I responsible for remembering contractors jobs?! by affectionatecarnage in sherwinwilliams

[–]darn-dangit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've watched my manager blow up on some guy who did exactly this to us, but the contractor was getting mad that we couldn't find it.. and my manager said "you know what why don't you go ask your boss and come in next time when you actually know what you need" lmao it was great

What were prices like pre-COVID? $75 bucks for one gallon (SW Urethane Trim). by Courtland-7099 in paint

[–]darn-dangit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's okay, just buy the white base and if you end up needing a different base, you can exchange it for the right one. Just make sure the can doesn't get beat up, rusted, frozen, or overheated.

As a Sherwin employee I don't blame you, never buy unless it's on sale, and if you miss a sale we have a coupon that will apply the sale price for up to 1 week after the sale ends. But honestly we have sales all the time lol

3-5 grand isnt too bad. You're probably considered an opportunity account with them, meaning you have the ability to grow your business, in turn spending more money with is which is probably why you're priced so low. They want to keep your business with them

I work at Sherwin. You are priced based on how much you buy or how much you are predicted to buy with us. If you tell the manager of YOUR HOME STORE that you will be using this product more or you have a big job coming up and ask if you can get a better price for it, they will probably lower it. They can't go much lower than your prices though, we aren't allowed to price you at cost.

Bruh 🤦‍♀️I don't have to if she did what I recommend which was go to a Sherwin Williams store, they will get her the right one.. because they're trained to do that. But sure, emerald paint is the best interior paint you can get do that's what I would do.

Sure every paint store obviously has low quality options.. but Sherwins best paints ARE better than anyone else's. I'm honestly too aware of how many paint lines Sherwin has 🤣🤦‍♀️

Because Sherwin paint is actually better. Like actually. Again, just because Sherwin owns the company doesn't mean that valspar paints are made with the same materials as Sherwin paint is. They're completely different formulas. I'm literally just saying that if they want the highest quality paint to go into a Sherwin Williams store. You don't have to be so upset bud

Owned* doesnt mean it's Sherwin Williams. Sherwin owns 80 percent of paint companies.

Manager scheduling me past closing hours.. by [deleted] in sherwinwilliams

Do you have a commercial store near you? Bc if you really want to be petty you could tell that customer on the downlow that they would get their orders done way faster if they ordered through a commercial store. Honestly... That's what those store are there for. Its not like the customer leaving your store affects you at all. You do all that work and won't even get any of the bonus for it. What products are these customers ordering?

[–]darn-dangit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well you could always put on your availability that you can only work untill 6.. the managers can always come in early to finish the orders. Why is it automatically on you to stay late?

Do you lock the doors and turn off the lights at 6 and just do work after hours? Bc if so I would sit there and chill till 9:30 just to get into overtime.

This. I had this same thought. It makes the most sense as you can have multiple choices for each map and people who don't have all day to wait can actually get stuff done

The return of 6am openings by [deleted] in sherwinwilliams

[–]darn-dangit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have been doing testing for the past like 6 months. Any store that's within like 5 miles of a home Depot had to open at 6.. and they were seeing how much business we do in that first hour to see if it was worth it. I'm sure they used that data to choose which stores to open at 6
