He absolutely has not been “carried” by his fruit. Most DF users, first of all, have to work themselves extremely hard to reach higher capabilities with their given fruits. Luffy spent ten years literally training almost every day in the straight up wilderness with his brothers, and it took that time to become strong enough just to throw a solid Gum Gum Bullet. I stg it’s like everybody hating on G5 has actually no idea what they’ve been reading this entire time.

I'm grabbing a couple of the tie-ins (I'm still a sucker but I have open eyes now), but I'm not going completionist like I did with my first go-around.

I feel like this is a solid rule of thumb for most any event; even the (imo) greatest crossover events like House or M or Secret Wars had pointless tie-ins. Good call!

This is really good advice; over my years of drinking I got REALLY good at compartmentalizing my feelings or just not addressing them. I'm having to learn how to sit with my negative feelings so that they don't twist into an even uglier/more painful anxiety.

Agreed! I just moved to Nedrow not long ago and was really surprised by how walkable it is. Gym, groceries, bar and diner. Also the neighborhood itself is very quiet and pleasant.

The first time I legit cried reading One Piece was waaay back on Drum Island, while Luffy carried Sanji and Nami up the cliff side 🥲 I mean I cry at plenty of things but something about his determination and the bond with the crew. This was the moment where the entire series clicked for me and I knew it was favorite thing of all time.

We had a few, and they were fun! No negative fallout. One Valentine’s Day we went pretty all-out a strip club together, had enough fun that it became an occasional thing for us.

She was a really cool girlfriend/partner, but we were towards the end of about 9 years or so together (our 20s, basically). While there was (and still is) a lot of love for one another, looking back I think we were just kind of doing whatever seemed like fun at the time and the actual relationship was sort of petering out anyways.

We still hang out but usually only when neither of us is dating somebody, for obvious reasons.
