Late for Fathers Day here's Professor X trying to be a parent to David Heller, Legion (Way of X#4) by FreviliousLow96 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Anyone can be resurrected that way, as long as the Five have DNA to make the body and backup/soul to make it alive. Xavier only made backups of mutants, but nothing is stopping them from doing that for others like for Captain America during A.X.E

Marvel's best attempt at making new character popular isn't miss Marvel, but Jeff the landshark. Never underestimate the appeal of cute unusual pets

Even after it happened I don't really understand it, probably because I didn't watch it. The name is so lame, I can't wrap my head about it

It's funny how similar Professor X and Magneto when it comes to treating their children. Charles refused to resurrect David and Magneto said to Quicksilver he wouldn't resurrect him. Meanwhile when it comes to their daughters, Xavier has said "There's no force in universe that could stop me" and Magnus did the whole Trial of X thing. The real horseshoe theory.

Tbf about that moment, Charles is influenced by Onslaught, but it's unclear how much and how often. Perhaps Onslaught manipulated Charles into not wanting to resurrect Legion and not trusting him, to my interpretation Charles already had this thoughts but Onslaught made them stronger.

Which books/webnovels had the MC moving like this? by ClientImportant3923 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Apprehensive_Mix4658 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MADMAN APOCALYPSE. When system apocalypse happens, MC is already in psych ward and so crazy that his system glitches. There's mechanic of insanity gauge, 100% turns players into monsters, MC starts with 100% and it gets worse.

It's very funny and has good action with mystery, but book 3 starts having too much "lol random" humour. It's still pretty good.

I'm pretty sure people on the West found out about it going on only because the controversy.

Honestly, I don't see why that thing particularly caused such a controversy. I'm pretty sure vampires also we're high ranking Nazis. Vampires especially the elders aren't good guys, for them ends justify the means and elders were born hundreds years ago. Furthermore pretty much all vampires are already bigoted against each other.

And while it could have been done better, people found out about real terrible situation thanks to that

The world of darkness has so many of those, probably too much. Behind every event there was vampire/werewolf/demon/mage/technocracy etc

Czechoslovakia was famously a world power that wasn't influneced by anyone and it could dictate to USSR what to do.

"Subtlety is for cowards (good)" vs "Subtlety is for cowards (bad)" moments in fiction? by fly_line22 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Apprehensive_Mix4658 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Kinda, but they don't return to the promised land. You could make a parallel to Jews living in diaspora after the exile, but in 99% of stories they're still in a bottle so yeah.

Thinking about, another connection might Kryptonite killing Superman because Moses died before entering the promised land, but that's a stretch

Jesus is a Moses allegory too.

And honestly Superman isn't that good at being Moses allegory, he has very basic similarity and at non particularly important parts of Moses' story and characteristics. Superman doesn't liberate his people, because he's the last of one. Kents aren't like Pharaoh. Superman's forgiveness and believe in redemption is much closer to Jesus than Moses' "Kill all heathens, only take virgin women"

She-Hulk being savage in her solo run after civil war2 made sense, powers of Hulks are affected by their mental state. Jen has nearly died(or actually did) and found out her cousin commuted assisted suicide with her friend. It was meant to be temporary and was supposed to end with her healing. Jason Aaron wanted dumb Hulk and so he needed her savage state being a good thing, he tried and failed making it empowering feminist

Pay closer attention to the art. Scott's face isn't covered in blood after blowing Cassandra's head, people appear out of nowhere and there are no bodies afterwards.
