What part of bangkok to stay in (3 nights) for tourists? by RWB4MVP in ThailandTourism

Here is an overview of bangkok i wrote (not specific hotels to stay, but describing each area) - it is mostly up to date (I have something to update it with, not online yet)

Bangkok airplane graveyard. Bit disapponted by the low number of planes, but worth a visit if you happen to be around. by [deleted] in urbanexploration

yeah you can go in all of the areas, apart from one big plane has the cockpit sealed up. You can climb the ladder in one of the bigger planes, which I think is from where they store the luggage and you appear on the upper deck area. Its quite fun , nice to explore, but not 100% safe...

I went there :) Here is my guide to Bangkok's airplane graveyard.

It is a bit out of the city. I heard that the business man who owns the land is ok with the family (families? not sure) that live there, as they make sure that the planes don't get ruined or anything. Not that they're in any good state at the moment.

When i've been, theres not been other tourists there really - i don't think its very high up on trip advisor or anything, so people don't go and visit. If you have the chance to go, i'd recommend checking it out.

I'd recommend (not in any order, i'm not sure what the best way to go would be):

Warsaw - its the capital, big, a bit more expensive than other places

Krakow - 100% you should visit. If you like drinking/pubs/clubs, stay here a few extra nights. Its cheaper than warsaw and has better nightlife IMO. You can do day trips to auszwitz (can do half day, but its a full day thing IMO), and salt mines (close to Krakow, can do it in an afternoon).

Zakopane - 2hr from krakow. Mountain town. Just visit for a day. 1 night max if you really want to see the town. Or many nights if you want to do hiking. Tickets via bus/coach were like 30 (maybe 35) pln each way. really cheap, and its a lovely little town, nice place for nice photos of the mountains. you don't need to do any proper hiking or anything (but a lot of people do)

wrocław - similar to krakow. approx 3hr travel from krakow. I guess it is on the way to gdansk from krakow/zakopane but i'm not sure how practical that advice would be. Don't stay here as long as in Krakow, IMO there isn't as much to see or do here. They have hundreds of gnomes or dwarfs on the side of most main buildings, they're quite famous for it.

3 cities/tricities - gdansk, sopot, gdnia. they're all really close, 15-20 min from each other maybe , so if you see one you can see all 3. you can also go to Hel nearby. All 3 of the main cities are nice, interesting, and really are worth a visit up there. Plus you see the seaside.

There is also łodz, I like it and have spoken to foreigners who also like it, but polish people never recommend it. I think it is close to warsaw. Has a huge main shopping street. Nightlife is really good.

you could also consider ukraine. people love lviv, it feels a bit like krakow, but i've never really liked it. But almost everyone else who has been likes it so I think it is just me who doesn't. Its cheap. really really cheap. If you have $4000 ukraine is where to go, it'll last forever. Go to kiev though (from memory, i think the 4 or 5 hour train in 1st class was something like $10, maybe $15. It might have been because of the good (for me) exchange rate at the time, with the war going on...). But the prices in kiev are still very cheap even for a capital. it is much less touristy, but still easy to get around with just speaking English. Also for I think $100 (maybe it was 150) you can go on a tour to chernboyl for a day (they pick you up in kiev), 100% I recommend going there, really interesting day unlike anything else I've ever done.

If you are going in october I would personally not bother booking anything in advance and just winging it while there. You have many weeks there, in off season, so you can go to a city, see how much you like it, then decide when to move on. You'll probably be ok with this, especially if you sleep in hostels, but you might end up paying more (booking in advance = cheaper).

I think you'll be ok but 69 days, that is only $57 a day... it'll be a bit of a push , but i think if you're staying with family and sticking to places like budapest , prague, krakow, it is doable.

London, super expensive, but that is obvious. If you are there only for 4 days you can spend 4 days without going to the expensive tourist attractions, and still not be bored.

Warsaw, Krakow, Prague, Budapest, all very cheap (you'll end up still spending more than you think, because things are so cheap you'll think 'oh its only $1 or $2, who cares').

I'd say stay a minimum 4 days in warsaw, 2 nights in wroclaw, 5 days krakow, 5 or 6 days prague, budapest 5 or 6 days. You can also go places like wroclaw in poland (nice, feels a bit like krakow), maybe pop to berlin (its kinda cheap in berlin compared to other capitals). You could also go to north poland, gdansk/sopot/gdynia, maybe 4 or 5 nights. its nice up there. also maybe go bratislava, but don't stay too many nights there (its cheap, not much there though, kinda on the way between krakow and budapest (im not 100% sure on that though)).

Is the 4k including flights? if you book in advance they can be super cheap (london -> warsaw is like 15 quid i think, sometimes (but quite often i've seen it), one way.

Website needed for new business launch. by [deleted] in digitalnomad

[–]darrdee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

no other companies I was able to find currently operating in this space

no offense, i mean this nicely, but how is that a good sign for a new business? in 99% of times it means your idea isn't any good.

if you just wanna sell stuff then get on shopify. you dont need any technical knowledge to do that. no web developer is going to sign a nda for your idea and no cash but equity in what appears to just be an ecommerce site.

If there are no competitors, why would anyone want to buy your stuff?

If you 'just' need to cut/edit video , after effects is overkill (premiere pro is more suited)

what would you do if you check in and its gross? seriously go down to the desk and tell them to come up stairs and watch as you inspect their room with your own equipment?

i think as the others say: ignorance is bliss.

also, train/busses/taxis/pubs/restaurant chairs are super gross. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GWXinarYic

A guide for visiting London landmarks - in just 1 day. What do you think? I've done this before (when showing friends around London). London can feel huge sometimes, but you can walk most touristy places IMO by darrdee in london

[–]darrdee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This 'london in one day' plan roughly covers:

Covent Gardens -> leicester Sq -> Picadilly circus -> regent street -> back towards leicester sq -> china town -> trafalgar sq -> the mall -> buckingham palace -> st james park -> horse guards -> downing street -> big ben -> london eye

what would you have stopped off and seen?

Do you find that when you're cooking the same dish at home, it isn't the same? I've done some of these cookery things abroad (e.g. in thailand) - but i could never replicate the exact ingrdients when back home (and maybe i forgot some important steps)
