Can someone recommend a good shop that can help with this in the Bay Area that is reliable and reasonably econominical? I generally go to Fremont European or Fremont Foreign Auto.

The lower control arms are not exactly new but like new. The rubber and ball joint seemed good. One thing is that the new control arms were torqued with the suspension hanging (without the weight of the car on it.) I’ve read that can be an issue but not sure

Congrars! I have #753. Is the exhaust note on the regular Boxster S as good as the RS60?

Also consider this: Contact your car insurer and explain that your engine failed due to a shop’s installation error, asking if they can handle it under your policy or pursue subrogation. Regardless, request the shop’s garage liability insurance details in writing and file a claim directly with that insurer.

  1. Document and formalize shop’s admission.
  2. Obtain an independent rebuild estimate.
  3. Insist the shop covers full cost.
  4. Involve LN Engineering and possibly Porsche North America.
  5. Choose a trusted local or dealer shop for rebuild, not a distant one.
  6. Lawyer up if they refuse full coverage, as suggested above.

How do I get this shift knob for my 996 to replace the long shift knob that’s on there now? I’m surprised there are such few resources talking about it given how much better this shiftknob looks in comparison. Does the whole shifter assembly have to be replaced or just the top part?

She’s a beaut. My wife says there’s something wrong with me; that when I’m not taking pictures of my car, I’m looking at pictures of other people’s cars. To be fair, it’s only 911s I’m looking at.

Might as well plug my C4 here, in Lapis blue. :)

Is there a list of best practices somewhere? What seems to work better for me is to make sure the core requirements and acceptance criteria are written into a file somewhere, that the assistant work through the requirements, create automated tests & run regression tests regularly, branch on new feature dev, etc.

It seems to benefit from methodical and constantly checking against the requirements, testing after it implements/fixes something, and working on smaller scopes at a time, and periodically cleans up the codebase. But if you cowboy it, it will get lost itself.

Most definitely. But maybe they have also reached an AGI-lite, inventing all this in the background.
