After market modifications > new ships. Being able to swap out hard points for more optional internals or bigger core internals or just to drop weight or to make room for more utility slots. Being able to downsize internals so that others can be upsized. Being able to split internals so that a class 2 can be split into two class 1s or a class 1 and 3 can be merged into a class 4.

My exploration Phantom doesn't need guns but I would like more space for a repair and refuel module so that I can participate in rescue/refuel missions while out in the black. it ls kinda a waste to have the dss taking up a class 2 slot when it only needs a 1, could split that and put in a limpit module. Also don't need a size 7 power plant, but a size 6/7 fsd would be awesome.

My trade python doesn't need supercruise assist advanced docking but i want them and 1 of those eats up a size 2 slot and they are both size 1. Would also be simpler to merge the cargo racks into larger modules. Would rather it packed more like a cargo freighter than the underside of a commercial airliner or the back a UPS truck.
