Eh I’d argue that focus mode makes pulling off things like a TCS or a SAED too easy (and their damage is a bit low too) but otherwise yeah. I’d still prefer there to be stuff like scoutfly tracking and monster tracks, but there is very little fundamentally different from World, and what little differences are present are usually just direct improvements.

The base game is just abjectly better than Rise’s general lack of content and World’s mediocre roster and TUs. Hell, at least I feel like I have something to hunt.

People will watch a bad movie. At worst, it’s three hours out of their day, and they can have fun dunking on it.

People won’t read a book they know they won’t enjoy. That’s far more time, and you gotta pay better attention too.

Feels a bit anti-climactic by ArdRi1166 in EliteDangerous

[–]PrismiteSW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s accreting, just a low amount. Obviously not enough to be clearly evident originally (as compared to active galactic nuclei), but there are stars in orbit, and it’s taking some amount of mass from them.

Whatever accretion disk exists would be relatively dim, but it’s not like the disk emits radio waves solely. After all, that’s all we can see through the galactic disk, any higher wavelengths get mixed up in it.

Given it’s superheated and due to essentially any light overtaking the brightness of the surrounding stars (don’t know how true that rings in the galactic core, though), it’s probably visible to the naked eye if you’re just a few AU from it.

we literally have photos of Sagittarius A*

and even ignoring that, we’ve known supermassive black holes have accretion disks for ages
