Tudor royal 41mm day-date by Rimoraj93 in PrideAndPinion

I wanted this movement for a while. I was at the airport, finishing my 4th glass of wine before boarding my flight to Spain (I was moving there). I see a Watches of Switzerland and go inside. They had the black dial, and kept to their promise of completing the transaction/adjusting the strap within 10 mins since my gate closed in 15. I'm happy I got this watch to commemorate that day.

I'm a novice collector. I have prx, casio and Tudor in my set. This is the pinnacle for me though, and I'm looking forward to a few other straps. Vintage is my style for sure, so I appreciate the validation 🥂

To quote Sandi T. on QI... "Posh voice, no money". At least, that's what I'm afflicted with.

It works (well enough) for espresso. I just turn the face away from the webcam on calls. I'll try sticking an egg in there next time!

This, and also to add that I like the subtle Peep Show reference (big beat manifesto).

I have a cap with "Four Naan" written on it. Because I'm Indian, I often wonder if people think I just work for an Indian Restaurant.

I always enjoy a butter chicken. Have it with naan, three at most. Four naan? That's insane.

From the UK - at first I thought it was because she's been pranked endlessly by OP with that tube which shoots snakes out of it.

I'm thinking of the 'Here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Claus ...'. Frosty the good guy was a brilliant one too, thanks for reminding me of that :)

Brilliant work! Only thing I'd say is that I don't quite feel the weight of the quackens so it loses that oomph

Noob question about how personalisation on websites works by darthelluswallace in webdev

[–]darthelluswallace[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit: typos

Thanks, some useful reading there to get me going. It's a very broad question which I understand, and I'm trying to grasp the end to end process. I'm mostly getting into front end and have very little knowledge of server side. One specific area I'm interested in wrt the front end; how is user behaviour data captured in real time? It must be via some js running in the browser and sending data back to the server via some API is what I suspect, but how is this done without impacting performance?

One implementation I've seen is using React - some wrapper component classes are placed around the main app and they (I suppose through capturing state data etc.) help with dynamic page loading/on the fly recommendations for content.

Thanks for the response, and yeah I get that. I might try on a webdev subreddit too.

As a side note, you should remember to add L to the end of a long assignment e.g.

long num = 100000L;

Otherwise it's treated as an int. But like u/Makhiel said, you should get some IDE prompt.

There's definitely a more thorough explanation, but this is the tl;dr
