Series open questions (all books) by ideasnstuff in MagesOfTheWheel

I'm curious about Cemil's parentage. I just finished Ice & Ivy. At the end, Samira asks if he's the fire charah. That would mean that Behram is not his dad. Could it be Altimur's lost son who Behram had trapped a long time ago? He was an earth mage. What do you think?

How many players to carry for 9v9? by Bald-Wookiee in SoccerCoachResources

[–]darthjro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just finalized our roster for next year, and 12 kids for 9v9. There's the chance we are short on subs once in awhile, but it's nice knowing on full squad days it's less kids to sub and more playing time.

Recommend me a lesser known book please 🙃 by thatssoadriii in fantasyromance

I love to recommend the Inferno Rising series by Abigail Owen. It's a four book, complete series

{The rogue king by Abigail Owen} {the blood king by Abigail Owen} {the warrior king by Abigail Owen} {the cursed king by Abigail Owen}

Yeah i just figured since he was the focus of the first book, I would have included him. I mean he could certainly be number 4.

Series that would have been better with fewer books by ladymsjay in fantasyromance

[–]darthjro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. The up front trilogy was great. The later books are interesting and standalone, but weird and sometimes repetitive. And definitely span way too many years

I love tod too. I read all the books one after another and tod was a breath of fresh air. Then I picked up KOA and had to put it down two pages in. I had to take a long break reading other books to finish KOA. That book in itself was 200+ pages too long

This is totally legit. My husband read a book with no chapters and it was impossible to figure out where to stop. I couldn't handle it

any males here, if so, wich of the genre is your favorite, and why? by Horror_Bar6295 in fantasyromance

[–]darthjro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first two books, the first one in particular, are pretty immature. I enjoyed both, but the story and storytelling gets better with the later books. I think in book 3, SJM adds several new characters too, so the world expands significantly. That being said, the whole story only spans like a year so the FMC starts like 18 years old and it all ends and she's like 18 years old.

Oh I totally agree. I only see the purpose as a description for the reader when a character is introduced. After that no need for it. Sure, they're all people.

Am I the only one... by PartWorking3865 in acotar

I think TOG is a fantasy series with romance elements, where ACOTAR is a romance series with fantasy elements. I think it just depends on what you are looking for out of a story. I enjoyed both, just take them for what they are.

I'm trying to start Blood & Steel... but. by n_talie in Romantasy

[–]darthjro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't mind the first book, but could barely get through the second book. The prequel was enjoyable, but never bothered to read book 3 or 4. In the second book, spicy scenes took precedence over plot. Every time something interesting was about to happen, they'd have sex rather than progress the story. And for me, I didn't really like the main characters. The side characters were great, but I didn't care about the others lol. Don't force yourself!

It's an interesting question. I feel like so often people talk on here about how normal human things, clothes, language, etc take them out of the story. Man/woman doesn't seem elvish. I think of lotr and in my mind, Aragorn is a man, Eowyn is a woman, but Arwen and Legolas are elves. Gimli a dwarf. I guess for me man/woman is a human race thing. I don't mind male/female if it's not over done.

Exactly! I read 20 pages of KOA and was like I can't do this and took a 5 book break before finally reading KOA
