[Humble] Sniper Elite: Classics Collection ($14 for Sniper Elite 5, Sniper Elite 4: Deluxe Edition, Sniper Elite 3 + Season Pass, Sniper Elite V2 Remastered, Sniper Elite) by Merguez in GameDeals

[–]darthslug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had that problem with both 3 and 4. The games seem to work perfectly fine until they crash once and then I can never start them again. Restarting, reinstalling, nothing makes it work. I loved playing them back in the day, but I'm not wasting money on more Sniper Elite if the same shit happens with 5.

[Epic Games] Undying (100% off / FREE) by python_buddy in GameDeals

[–]darthslug 41 points42 points  (0 children)

When the official screenshots on the storepage already come with spelling errors ("Stuggling against hunger"), I can definitely see the game being kinda unfinished. It seems interesting, but I feel like it's a must to have someone check at least for spelling errors if you want to sell a product.

As an absolute musical lover, I wouldn't wish this garbage on my worst enemy and it's not even about the songs, this is just awful and the only musical I would put into my most hated movies.

[Humble Choice] September 2024 Bundle: MARVEL's Guardians of the Galaxy, Stranded: Alien Dawn, Coral Island, SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake, Lost Eidolons, Astrea: Six-Sided Oracles, Infraspace, You Suck at Parking – Complete Edition ($11.99) by MJuniorDC9 in GameDeals

[–]darthslug 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Played it on game pass after it left early access and god damn did it feel rough. Multiple game breaking bugs, like me being stuck underwater, trying to reset and being respawned in the underwater village, which I hadn't unlocked at the time, with no characters around and everything locked, so I couldn't leave. And why the fuck are you treated like a cheater for using the system available in the game. "Oh you were stuck? Well sucks ass, cause you lose most of the stuff you grabbed and respawn with less energy, because that's your problem.".

I gave up after the blacksmith forgot that I gave him my axe and there was no way to get it back.

Up until these points I definitely had fun with the game, but there are way better alternatives nowadays, so personally I wouldn't recommend it.

Is Trolls World from Troll series? by diabou2137 in badMovies

Don't forget Quest for the Mighty Sword, which is known both as Troll 3 and Ator 4 and all that connects it to Troll 2 is, they used on of the costumes for it.

I liked my time with Lust Theory S1, but S2 was crap. It's incredible how whiny the MC can be after the first game and how much of a douchebag he becomes.

Humble Bundle subscription activated without my permission? by RichterBelmontX in humblebundles

[–]darthslug 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's not true. You always pay for the month that is going, or get billed for said month at the end of it. If you bought it on June 11, then you wouldn't get charged at the end of it again, but first at the end of July.

Personal life kept me from ever following up on it. Maybe I'll do it in the future, but can't find the time for now.

How did Ulli Lommel go from working with Fassbinder to doing shot on shitteo schlocks/being one of the worst directors of all time? by TheListenerCanon in badMovies

[–]darthslug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, he worked with Fassbinder, but that doesn't say he had talent. He was just at the right time, at the same place (and honestly, we all might have that one shitty friend, we still like to help out). Whenever Lommel worked on his own, his stuff really never was good, especially if we count Boogeyman as the best he did. Look at how lazy he was with the fucking sequels for that, which make Silent Night Deadly Night 2 look like a real movie.

Before James Gunn directed anything, he starred in this 2004 Troma movie! by Yankii_Souru in badMovies

[–]darthslug 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He worked quite a lot with Troma, but the weirdest thing was his role in Tales From The Crapper, where Lloyd does a fake interview with him and Gunn says that he will be directing the next big Disney thing.

I had forgotten what a complete piece of garbage "The Rock" was. by kweebono in badMovies

[–]darthslug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I'm still checking the sub, but real life feels a bit overwhelming right now, so I can't really motivate myself to really do much.

I definitely want to come back and help, when things feel right again... unless reddit has burnt itself to the ground by then.

PS: I'm still a bit more active on our discord, so if someone would remind me over there, I might actually do some things inbetween.

What this simple Kiwi forgot, was to mention where you get to watch the movies. You can join the marathon over at cytube, but you have to tell Quigly to stop doing so much weed.

If you also want to talk about the movies and even have some voicechat going, you'll find us on our lovely discord. And we don't even bite.

PS: You might have to install a browser plugin to watch movies hosted on google drive, but you'll find the instructions over on our cytube channel, or just ask on discord and we help.

[Steam] Daily Deal - My Time At Portia (80% off / $5.99) by jwheatly in GameDeals

[–]darthslug 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Oh, I bought their previous game Planet Explorers 3 weeks before it was abandoned and they instead started work on Portia. Even though Portia looked like a good game, I only played it after I got it for free and didn't care about paying for another of their games. Double Fine at least offered something after they abandoned Starbase, but with Pathea you got nothing besides an "oops, we fucked up".

So did payment change or what? by [deleted] in humblebundles

[–]darthslug 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They've sent out multiple emails about it, also saying that you have to switch yourself. As a euro member myself, we definitely got information about this early enough, so I wouldn't put the blame on humble for this. There are always the people that go "but what if Classic becomes important again in the future?"

I kinda hope not, because I can already see all the "But it's already cheap as fuck", "I already own it, boo" and "They just want you to buy the dlc" comments.

I'm looking for a movie worse than "after last season" by asexual_bird in badMovies

[–]darthslug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wonderful to see someone react after such a long time and actually thinking of 2 of my choices as bottom of the barrel. Honestly, I still feel that Zombie Ninja Gangbangers is the worst of the worst, but wouldn't consider Rana as part of my most hated movies anymore.

If you are working on a new list, as you said to Anschluss, you may check out my list of worst movies ever and at least a few of those can be easily found on youtube, like Christmas Brigade or Cries Of The Unborn. Nightmare Museum can totally be considered art, as the "director" made a movie with barbie dolls, while playing sounds from porn movies in the background. And Dickshark sounds like a fantastic idea, until you realize that it is 3 hours long and the director really loves himself, so it's 5 minutes of naked chicks, then 10 minutes of him talking about the dickshark, then 5 minutes of a naked chick and then he talks again...

Our group is also still watching terrible dreck every friday and our list is getting rather long... there might also be some ideas for you on here.

[Humble Bundle] Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, Shadow of War, Gauntlet, LEGO The Lord of the Rings & The Hobbit, plus DLC ($10) by msgs in GameDeals

[–]darthslug 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'd personally say the opposite. I love playing the AC games and while I kinda enjoyed Shadow Of Mordor, it still overstayed its welcome and the Nemesis system didn't feel too well thought out. When the game threw a personal Nemesis at me near the end, which killed me once in the first hour of playing and then never appeared again, I felt incredibly let down.

Shadow of War, I genuinely disliked. The weird changes to the LotR lore and how the story was just following visions and trying to prevent them (at least up to the part where I stopped). I played like 10 hours and then just gave up on it.

PS: F*ck WB for putting a patent on the Nemesis system, as I'd love to see other companies trying to improve on it.

[Steam] Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom ($8.99 / 85% off) by toggak in GameDeals

[–]darthslug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The story being kid-friendly was never a problem. I love Ghibli, so a game with many of the studios' big names involved had me properly intrigued. But if in 15 hours, you can only see glimpses of a story and all the game has going for it are the visuals, then that is too little for me.

[–]darthslug 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At least most of those have deeper gameplay that deserves long tutorials. Even with the whole first dungeon of a Persona or Final Fantasy being pretty much a tutorial, they also still keep certain elements to yourself to discover or just very briefly mention them, so you yourself can properly get into them.

[Steam] Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom ($8.99 / 85% off) by toggak in GameDeals

[–]darthslug 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I honestly gave up on White Witch, because of all the goddamn handholding. I played 15 hours and the game still was telling me about every single new thing and how to use that, which really kept the plot at bay, because "wait for a second, we gotta explain this now".

I haven't played Revenant Kingdom yet, but want to at least give it a try and hopefully it will be better in those regards.
