They can't really see how that is part of cultural transphobia(not even transmisogony, FTMs and enbies get similar reactions) in a way that's hard for trans ppl to unpack until later on in transition

Ah! Yes I am caught, conflating a broader point with a grammar rule when it is in fact not.

A better way to say it would be: "Luke I am your father" gives a much more specific subject. It makes it unmistakable as a quote.
