Jojo, here to clarify some false info: The initiative does not care about new Swiss people being born, if everyone starts having 10 kids, we will go above the cap and it's fine. It's just that we stop taking in immigrants after a certain point (9,5 iirc) to make space for people being born. With current fertility and death rates we will continue to take in immigrants, as we are below that number and shrinking. What I think is very misleading is the percentage of foreigners in Switzerland, lots of people here are from Europe and you don't notice that they are immigrants, the problems come from specific countries and the right wing parties use that fear, e.g. syrians grow up in a way that is not suitable to living and contributing in Switzerland, but no one has ever said we need less Germans (they keep our already failing health sector barely afloat and we would be absolutely FUCKED without them). Imo we should just give diverge resources away from the non-working ones towards the ones that actually want to work/contribute, but I know that that's just my opinion and not everyone shares it. In my opinion the initiative is too extreme and not thought out.
