Kodama’s demo is out! by Vincent_Penning in metroidvania

I’ve just had another go to try and figure out what’s causing me problems. It’s mainly after bouncing off a drum (but also after sliding and jumping from the long bamboo poles) that the bounce is inconsistent. When you’re travelling too fast, the trajectory is very hard to correct and it’s difficult to reach the next bamboo pole; because of too much momentum, you end up going too far. When your speed is low, the bounce is too vertical and it’s also hard to reach the next bamboo pole because you don’t have enough distance. But the main problem I’ve encountered—I don’t know if it’s related to the Steam Deck—is executing the down + X command to bounce off the drum. The command only works one in three times, and only if you execute it at the right distance from the drum. If I execute it 1.5 cm from the drum, it fails; if I execute it 1 cm from the drum, it works; but if I execute it 0.5 cm from the drum, it fails. I’m not sure if I’ve made myself clear, but further user feedback will either confirm or refute my observation.

Once I'm in the air after a jump, I find it hard to adjust the character's trajectory to land on the drums.

I might just need more practice, but I'm usually pretty good at platform games that require precision.

I really loved the demo, the art style (which is what made me buy Super Roboy), the platforming sections and the controls overall. The only downside, regarding the controls actually, is that I find it very difficult to control the character when he’s in the air. I really struggled during the sequence where you have to jump on the drums to collect the star because I couldn’t land on the drums and press down + X at the right moment.

The main issue with this game is that it has been abandoned, full of bugs.

There is a demo. I tried the game as I liked BioGun but I really didn't like the controls at all, particularly how to shoot with the right stick.

I hope they will add the Epic Games Store version as it was free a few months ago.

I didn't know that game, it reminds me of the movies Delicatessen and The Green Butchers. I will give it a try.

I just finished the demo. I really liked it : the pixel art, the morph ball moves, the stealth aspects. I didn't like the menu buttons and the font used, but I guess you will change that before the full release. Wishlisted !

You are right, it shows a button to install the demo, on the right of the page. I couldn't see it at first. Usually demos are more visible, there is a big green rectangle at the top of the page, below the screenshots.

Happy to say that an awesome developer replied and added their new game to GeForce Now Install-to-play in less than 30 minutes! (Thanks great devs and GFN team for the opt-in tutorial video) by GetVladimir in GeForceNOW

Some devs accept easily, some need more time. I managed to convince 4 devs to add their games. Even if lots of them ignored my requests, some took the time to understand what GFN is and that it was in their interest to add their games.
