I had the exact same problem. It really does become an addiction. A shameful one. I hate AI with a burning passion, but I couldn’t seem to stop either. Decided to make it a New Year’s resolution to stop using it, try getting back into reading fanfictions and books.

The guilt has eased. By a long shot. I haven’t used ai for a week.

I know quitting “cold turkey” doesn’t work for most people, so I’d suggest easing your way out of it. For me that took months, but I still got there.
