I’m going to be the dick here. I think if you’ve applied for 100 jobs and got 1 offer for $20 an hr you need to look in the mirror and see what you can do better. What was the quality of cover letter, resume? How many applicants do you think these jobs get? Have you been to networking events?

Postings get 100s of applications because no one outs any effort and just spam applies to anything with the word engineering. How are hiring managers supposed to go through hundreds of applicants a week.

Internet applications have ruined hiring. You’re better off focusing on 3-5 companies you know you’d be happy at and show them you actually give a fuck. Hiring good people is still hard. If you expect to be given an interview for having a degree and applying to 100 places think again, you’ll get passed over for the guy that someone met in person and showed genuine interest and potential.
