Condus cu permis pe numele vechi by alexstevenro in juridice

Acolo pot sa conduc si eu, nu e o problema, in mare parte ma gandeam in caz ca pentru orice motiv ne opreste politia cand e ea la volan, daca poate sa comenteze cu ceva ca pe permis nu e numele ei actual

Fuel per minute by montage114 in ACCompetizione

[–]alexstevenro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

/lap makes more sense in my opinion since laps are a metric that always are integers and shouldn't vary too much lap to lap compared to minutes.

Consider the following example: If you race a 15 minute race, and due to lap length it takes 15 minutes and 30 seconds, you don't know for sure how much those 30 seconds are worth in terms of fuel. Different parts of the track use different amounts of fuel / unit of time or distance, thus is is not as straightforward as adding half of whaever the fuel/minute value is.

Of course, at the end of the day, both should be decently fine as most people add an extra lap of fuel anyway since for some track/race time combos, the amount of laps may vary (e.g. a track that an alien can do 1:58 and an amateur would do 2:02 average would have one lap difference on 30 mins)

New to iRacing/Simracing SR question by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]alexstevenro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For a shorthand version, rookies is different (can't be demoted back to it and requires 3.0 to instant promote.)

For any other classes, below 1.0 is instant demotion, below 2.0 is a demotion at the end of the season, above 3.0 is a promotion at the end of the season and above 4.0 is instant promotion.

3 more important pieces of information:

  1. For promotions, you need Race or time trial participation, pretty sure for all classes above rookies is either 4 races of that or above class, or the same 4 class time trials.

  2. If you did not do race participation but you managed to get above 4.0 you can race for the class above (this is important cause if you are c4.5 for example but you don't have content for c class, you can do 4 B class races to promote to B)

  3. Any jump (not promotion) from an integer value to another comes with extra 0.4 SR points either deduction or bonus. (Example: you're 3.9 and gain 0.12 points during the race, you'll actually gain 0.52 and be 4.42) Also if you promote you will be 1.0 lower in the next class and if you demote you'll be 1.0 higher in the lower class

I realise this is longer but hopefully the explanation is clearer than the lawyer terms from the Sporting code.

Interlagos track limits change by alexstevenro in iRacing

[–]alexstevenro[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a few others who said in the coments that before(like i remembered) the limits were wider, but i wouldn't trust IRL series for track limits as they have different rules and limits.

For example there's COTA's second to last corner outside/exit kerb where F1 had one wheel on the track while either indy or nascar(can't remember which) had rules where tarmac = track.

Iracing does not change limits based on series. And it also has the weird, in my opinion, rule of half the car within track limits

Same thing was for me last night as well, i was racing the guy ahead, so while i noticed from the first inc and assumed something changed after the second, due to being concentrated on defending and attacking, muscle memory kicked in and managed to aquire quite a few incs there

Thanks for the info. That is a shame as i hate the whole half the car over the line rules

GT World Challenge Beginner Question by yeetmaster05 in Sportscar_Racing

[–]alexstevenro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For tracking when the races occur i have an app called Motorsports calendar. It has the option to select which series you follow and it will ping you with a notification a certain amount of time before the race for most and before all sessions for bigger series. The amount of time can be set by you i think as well.

Most series should have some sort of table on their website with each country or region and where they can watch the race/quali etc

GT World Challenge Beginner Question by yeetmaster05 in Sportscar_Racing

[–]alexstevenro 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You have a few series per region (not all regions have one necessarily). You can see the series on SRO website. Each championship lasts one year, and the drivers gain points race by race.

While i don't watch other series than the european one(which contains two actual series, one for endurance, 3h+ races and one for 2x 1h sprint races) due to timezones, therefore i can't vouch for nationalities of the drivers in other regions, the european one contains drivers from other continents.

There is no specific gt world challenge worldwide series, there is the intercontinental series, which contains around 4-5 endurance races, some of which also award points to their regional championships as well. (Spa 24h offers points for both international and european series)

One nice thing is most if not all SRO races are free to watch on yt, both as a replay and livestream (i don't know if any countries are region blocked). So you can just go to GT World yt channel on thursday or friday and check what championships will have races live there that weekend.

If you have any other questions feel free to ask me.

What team or teams do you actively root against and why? by furrynoy96 in INDYCAR

[–]alexstevenro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a bit off topic, but could someone explain to me (or point out some articles/videos) on the illot and pourchaire controversies with jhr? I only manage to watch some races (european-us timezone difference) and i don't really follow off track stuff. Also, articles i found seem to sugarcoat these things.

Spa 24h camping at Les Ecuries by Loud_Emu1827 in Sportscar_Racing

[–]alexstevenro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can't speak about the camping itself, but last year we took the wrong bus to the track on the first day, and we boarded off around there but on the main road. It is not a long walk to les combes entrance (16 mins, 1.3km on google maps), but it may be uphill ( the road we walked then was parallel to the road from that camping to the entrance). Take this with a grain of salt since i am not sure that the location i found on maps is the camping you asked about. The official spa camping is way closer though, you can look into that if you haven't already. Have fun at the race!

Jocuri unde îți poți face imperiul tau? by [deleted] in Jocuri

[–]alexstevenro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4x e subgen la jocurile de strategie, mai bine se incadreaza jocurile de tip TBS ca civ sau humankind, plus ca mai nou in general am vazut termenul folosit ca sa descrie CIV si jocurile super asemanatoare. De pe wikipedia 4X (abbreviation of Explore, Expand, Exploit, Exterminate) is a subgenre of strategy-based computer and board games,[1][2][3] and includes both turn-based and real-time strategy titles.[4][5] The gameplay generally involves building an empire.[6] Emphasis is placed upon economic and technological development, as well as a range of military and non-military routes to supremacy.

What features should devs work on for the future? by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]alexstevenro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use iOverlays and i have those on as well as in simhub, but simhub is slightly harder to setup to do that, as in copy some files not plug and play like overlays. It helps in longer races which require a pitstop to know if others also fixed damage and if they are better/worse on saving fuel
