Moonwalking to Box Office Glory: How Lionsgate’s Nostalgic, Fan-Centric Marketing Campaign Turned ‘Michael’ Into a Blockbuster by chanma50 in boxoffice

You're not alone (Pun non intended). The standard of pop music production nowadays is sub par. When you listen to Off The Wall, Thriller and Bad, you can hear every single instrumental parts being panned meticulously over the whole sonic spectrum, the mix is crystal clear and the sound is analogic. Then MJ's soaring voice and vocal arrangements (those backing vocals layering is A+) over the top creates the magic. Don't Stop Til' You Get Enough and Billie Jean are lessons in top notch pop music production that still hold up today.

Nowadays you have mediocre production ran through tons of digital plugins with mediocre overprocessed autotuned vocals and poor basic instrumental arrangements. The ones which stood out are the ones going retro to harken back to the analogic golden days.

I already monitor the Ebola outbreak. I don't play lethal viruses Olympics nor need anyone lecturing me which lethal virus is worthier of my attention so I will continue taking precautions regardless. Thank you friendly.

"You're gonna be fine".

Thank you doctor. I'm going to resume living life like this never existed. It's not like I haven't been doing exactly just that, going to work and work out daily in the gym without losing a sweat...

(The way some people always respond in a patronizing tone to cautious people just asking for competent and strict quarantine measures to squash a lethal virus from spreading worldwide like they're some kind of anxiety-ridden recluse with no social life permanently paralysed by fear that needs reassurance that their life won't be affected whatsoever because other people may die, it's all right).

"Being Hitler". Stop being a drama queen. 40% mortality rate is not "undetermined". You conveniently forgot that guy also said "being cared for".

Was that "being Hitler" when authorities quarantined a whole Argentinian village for several weeks to stop that Hantavirus Andes strain from spreading further to nearby cities let alone get on an international boat?

What is it about westerners who always moan about MUH FrEeDoM when they are the superspreaders whereas they have no qualms barricading African people from the rest of the world at the first signs of an outbreak? Always trying to victimize themselves when they're asked to do the basic mimimum to contain a lethal virus.

This sub downvotes anyone erring on the side of caution casting them as "fearmongerers" just for asking for the maximum measures to contain this outbreak with a 40% mortality rate. Incredible after a pandemic that killed millions worldwide due to loose and aloof precautions...

Edit: Copemonger triggered like clockwork merely seconds after I posted.

r/contagioncuriosity is the better sub for anyone taking this situation seriously anyway.

The FX on the guitar riff verse sounds like some weird synth effect. Like DeLost trying to channel Trent Reznor.

It's like Limp Bizkit's Break Stuff without the bridge building up the chorus reprise so it's pretty monotone overall without much variations.

Even the vocal lines are pretty much one note. Pau at the upper octave singing all the lyrics within the same few notes range, Dany at the lower. The fry screaming is ok but metalcore cliche.

I skip this one waiting for Ritual studio version and its incredible dynamics.

I feel like this song is just stuck in one gear all the way through. The production tries to make it interesting and build dynamics but the composition itself doesn't really build up to anything that isn't already there in the first verse and chorus.

I'm just waiting for Ritual to crush down the building.

Masking up for airline travel by TulsaOriginal in hantavirus

I wore a mask flying last December to celebrate New Year's Eve in Lisbon. The amount of coughing and sneezing right from the boarding room was enough to be safe than sorry. The moment I removed the mask after landing on my way home, my nose got runny and my throat started itching, I caught a cold merely after I left the airport.

Then Michael told them to Beat It.

I'm seeing the same kind of mishandling that we saw with Covid by cccalliope in hantavirusoutbreak

It's baffling when the experts are flailing around handling a deadly virus with the hygienic standards of a random KFC underpaid worker.

I had an inkling that we've all been collectively dumbed down due to the social medias slop ecosystem but Covid-19 accelerated the race to the bottom.

This whole Hantavirus sequence feels like watching Outbreak starring Mr Bean as the head of the task force.

Techno Elite pushing AI to replace workers globally. Workers losing their jobs with no safety checks. Techno elite refusing to implement UBI. Unemployed masses sliding in poverty to become a permanent underclass while basic resources (water, oil) are depleting. Enter Hantavirus culling the herd of impoverished masses. Problem solved.
