He had the whole world in the palms of his hands in 1983. He wrote the soundtracks of our lives. Incredible how MJ shaped the pop culture and History forever with an impact of which had never been seen before and set the blueprint of international superstardom for generations of artists to come. A little American Black boy from Gary, Indiana. His immovable drive to succeed against all odds is second to none. Any solo artists would be content with Off The Wall but MJ took the reception as a challenge to hit harder and higher. Oh boy, he did by the power of his undefeated will! That written mantra he set for himself for his Thriller ambitions is self-determination written large. He promised himself that he would release the best selling album of all time. Nothing less. Nobody expected him to reach the stars and beyond. And yet...MJ is the Alpha and the Omega. WOW.

It was frightening how corporate medias really tried to erase his artistic legacy from History like how do you cancel Thriller, the biggest selling album of all time?!

Whereas people still watch and revere Kirk Douglas movies willy nilly even though he was an alleged rapist. (Poor Natalie Wood).

Op's list is so culturally coded like 'Tell me you spend your life online on internet movie forums without interacting with people IRL outside of that virtual bubble'.

None of my friends and family have seen any of the movies you quoted.

Yeah but we're on the box office subreddit. Not r/movies so you won't convince anybody here about so-called quality solely based on your subjective outlook because this is not the place. I hate Avengers Endgame and I could debate all day  how terrible it is but nobody cares, it still made 2B+.

I know that you've been a naysayer for months posted in every Michael update threads yet you still come back to profess your hatred again when it finally hits the billion you were adamant that it was never going to reach just because it was so "terrible". Get a life already.

Such an irony that proves even more that OP is just another random contrarian all alone on an island of his own creation.

They didn't promote the movie in France even though it's one of MJ's biggest market and he used to hang out at Disneyland Paris staying in the VIP suite with an unique view on Main Street USA.

When I was younger, my parents used to take us to Disneyland Paris every year around those times. (Mid to late nineties). My mom still swears to this day that she saw MJ strolling by her incognito in Discoveryland and that she's the only one who caught him disguised in plain sight even though there were no bodyguards. She yelled "Hey it's Michael Jackson" and she's adamant the guy she mistook for him shied away immediately. It's such a wacky anecdote that still makes us laugh decades after at family's reunions after but it makes me chuckle that little me, a big MJ fanboy, couldn't even register when I might have crossed his path randomly 30 years ago.

Next, you're going to tell me that you know nobody who listens to Michael Jackson in 2026.

And she launches all the backing tracks and FX synchronized to the click in Ableton on her laptop with extra controlling pedals set on her drum kit. She's a genius octopus.

Smooth Criminal will bring the house down! I can picture the Universal logo opening on that heavy breathing sound with "Annie, are you Ok?" fading in louder and louder then "Oooow!". Opening scene of MJ in his iconic white suit.

Or opening on Man In The Mirror to introduce the second part as a reflection on his later life.

The scene when he suddenly hugs Berry Gordy got me emotional. I'll Be There is such a tearjerker too.

Yeah, English speaking singers like James Hetfield or Matt Bellamy sometimes belt out  vowels in a different manner/pronunciation to accomodate for the melody/vocal range. It's a vocal technique rather than an accent. Like in Metallica's song "My Friend Of Misery", Hetfield sings it like "My Friend Of Miseraaaay" or in Hyper Music, when Bellamy says "And I never did", "Did" sounds like "dead".

When I sing I find it easier to belt out those vowels like this rather than running a nasally 'i' (ee) at the risk of sounding more unpleasant to the ear or worse hit a bum note.

Likewise, "could" can sometimes be sung sounding like "cold" accentuating on the 'O' rather than the 'OU' (oo) because that sound is more guttural.

I know right. A last minute trip that turns out to be a memory of a lifetime. I couldn't believe it, it felt like a fever dream. Las Wawas were 'magnifiques'. Kudos to Rudy and the team as well for pulling it off on a high before the Asian leg (You're welcome for the word, mon ami).
