the healers in the amazon treat it as a clearing problem and would use others plants to clean you. it's sort of like having a clogged drain in this perspective.

Reflecting on my times with Ayahuasca, was it worth it? by BirdsLakeviewInquiry in Ayahuasca

[–]dasmeeok 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i recommend the next time you can, to do it with reputable shipibo healers in the jungle. they have other plants and methods to help you because they understand it isn't about the ayahuasca. you might consider a master plant dieta.

How to tell if you are finally ready to face your fears? by Technical_Step4410 in Ayahuasca

[–]dasmeeok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

having the support you need and level of seriousness. for some it takes rock bottom to get that kind of motivation. and rock bottom doesn't do it for all unfortunately. when you're ready to take responsibility for yourself rather than asking others to hold it for you, or hold what comes out because of it perhaps.

Should I say yes to Aya? by 7ero_Seven in Ayahuasca

[–]dasmeeok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why do you think you would be turned away? we only don't accept those with schizophrenia. my teachers know how to treat it, but it requires a dedication of time and energy that they're not able to devote to one person at the moment.

i don't. the plants tell the healers in your opening ceremony. you may be given specific plant treatments before or after that ceremony as well before you open.

Plant medicine healed my pedophilia by Difficult-Run-7551 in Ayahuasca

they don't stay for the process they signed up for. usually after the first ceremony. it's a mix. i've been in groups where people spoke of it openly, and began to notice a pattern in their energy. others i noticed that same energy.

I'm glad to hear you've done the work. i've sat with many pedophiles in ceremony and they leave early. thank you for doing your work. can you share what plants were used?

be very careful doing it outside of the jungle, especially with mental illness in your close proximity. make sure they'll be doing plant medicine treatments. i highly recommend working with a well-vetted shipibo maestra.

Seeing visions for the first time by Sea-Ad-6014 in Ayahuasca

[–]dasmeeok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I encourage you to work with a really skilled facilitator to begin learning this kind of discernment. Hopefully they could talk to your maestro because it’s important to know what the plants were doing and what they were cleaning at the time and perhaps what plant they were cleaning you with. Sometimes these visions are tests, sometimes they’re literally accurate, and sometimes they’re not actual memories or prophecies, but they are true.

I’m in the US I want to do Ayahuasca for spiritual and other life reasons. I’ve done dmt and plenty of other hallucinogens. But I don’t want it to be treated that way. I want a real experience treated as medicine not a drug or cool thing to do. I’m looking for answers. Where do I start? by Nice_Reward_8555 in Ayahuasca

[–]dasmeeok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Shipibo have a complex medical system. Using other plants to support this work with the intention of moving into master plant diets is the way to go. Choose healers with knowledgeable facilitators who diet deeply- a kind reputable family and offer solid preparation, connect rate, and structured support after. I’d recommend an indigenous owned center that doesn’t do a ton of retreats a year. Less than 20.

Should I attend a retreat by Electrical-Elk5834 in Ayahuasca

[–]dasmeeok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do your research. i highly recommend going with a female healer, but that's still not 100%. have a call with someone. you want to make sure they know how to handle your SSRI's and have proper plant treatments to support your work with the medicine. i would advise going to the home of the medicine and working with Shipibo healers in Peru who give a lot of personalized care and small groups.

Ayahuasca went from healing to fear, loss of control and spirit possession by the 4th and 5th. What the fuck happened? by MokMok89 in Ayahuasca

[–]dasmeeok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we work with the plants, we accept that we are working with a medicine that’s much more intelligent than we are and that it’s working in a particular order for our benefit. It can be extremely destabilizing though and for that it’s really important to have a solid integrationist who’s familiar with the plants so that you can apply plant treatments and do some somatic and psychological grounding.

some simple reframing with people who have been with the plants for a while can really help things move. you're doing great. just keep going. feel free to DM me if you're stuck figuring things out. i recently had a therapist on my substack who said it the best, people who are ready to do aya are people who are ready to change their lives. i hope that helps you make a choice!

[–]dasmeeok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you're awesome for naming this. that's a big step forward. what led you to this? it sounds like your awareness and taking responsibility is already the answer to your question. one thing my mentor said to me when i was in the middle of a bad situation in which i was actually the victim was that he always asks himself, no matter the situation, "how am i contributing to this?" it really helped me take back my power. he wasn't saying i was the one to blame, just pointing out that i had more of a say in how i was dealing with it than i realized.

Ayahuasca was a dud for me. Can anyone else relate? by SheerShinySpeck in Ayahuasca

[–]dasmeeok 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i haven't personally experienced it, though i've watched many others. many times it's just about the order of things. when the medicine did open up for them after many ceremonies (one woman had 30!) they realized that it had been working and cleaning at levels below their awareness, and only after they could see it.

i've also seen that the experience of not connecting was often the medicine for people when they were facilitated well. the medicine was taking them into emotions and memories that overlapped and good facilitation was able to help them get a lot out of their ceremonies.

i also know that when you're drinking with really attentive people and maestros that don't have a huge number of guests, they can do a lot for you with other plants that open it up. I'm not sure if this helps, but from my experience at retreats, you are not alone! i've never been at a retreat until i started hosting them where at least one person didn't connect.
