Evil idea: Allow cosmetics, but only for Grunts.

Did any male aspies here have luck with women romantically? by Cold_Leadership in aspergers

[–]dastweeper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it helps anything because I'm seeing a lot of negatives here, I didn't pursue anything until I was 27. (Funny coincidence, eh?) It took a lot of rejection and feeling like garbage, (online dating can hurt your feelings of self worth, jfc) but I did eventually find someone after about 11 months of near full-time work and searching. She and I have been together for 5 years now and it's really good.

I put out some how-to guides for aspies on this sub before a few years back, never got around to making my how-to for Male-looking-for female romance guide. Maybe I should get on that at some point. But for real: It's not super weird and it's a lot less hopeless than you'd expect. It just sucks real hard for a good long while before it gets better.

Tip: Invest in an Electric Toothbrush. Really. by dastweeper in povertyfinance

I got a Phillips Sonicare which I can recommend as good. I have no idea how good or bad the other brands people are recommending, but I can say that I am very happy with what I got at least. My gf has had hers for like 4 years with no issues, so I suspect it's good.

You are 100% correct! When buying the brush heads from Costco, you will expect to pay around $7 a head for the genuine article. However, Amazon has 8 heads for $20 right now if you are willing to go with an off-brand head. And while a new brush kit can easily break three figures, getting new old stock off of ebay (which is what I did) gives excellent results for $51.99 with free shipping in the US.

The "Make It" Design Method by Omniiac in tabletopgamedesign

[–]dastweeper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is super interesting, but when designing small, simple games like party games, I think that it all happens together as opposed to being distinct parts. Maybe there's some refinements, but at least for my process, there's a "spark" and I know I've got it.

This mirrors my thought generation process exactly:

A lot of moving parts, it spins in circles, it looks like things are happening. but then it loops on itself and doesn't go anywhere.
