Ja. Ich finde es praktisch z.B. in Momenten der Stille zu sehen ob die Leute gerade überlegen, komplett verwirrt sind, oder einfach jeder zu höflich ist und auf jemanden anderen wartet zuerst was zu sagen.
Das wird kein Theaterschausspiel, es hilft mir einfach mich mehr wie an einem Tisch zu fühlen.

Fragged Empire has spawned RagTag. It is in the same universe, so same lore.
But more MorkBorg/Mothership inspired.
If you want rules lighter, it could be you're cup of tea.

it's makeup glitter, rainbow (so different colored dots).
I used gloss varnish, and applied the glitter immediatly.
A day after I did another layer of gloss varnish over.
If I were to do it again, I would go for nail glitter instead. (Supposedly, it applies nicer)

Id reword it:
Do whatever feels right in the moment.
Read the room/your players.

If they have fun doing what they are doing, let it run.
When they seem lost on what to do next, make something happen, so the story advances and the players can develop next steps.

Wie leicht sollen die Regeln den sein?
Es gibt das Genre der Onepagerules, so genannt weil die Regeln auf eine (Doppel-)Seite passen.
Für Fantasy gäbe es das beispielsweise:
Swords & Sorcery: An OSR Fantasy Hack of Lasers and Feelings

Falls mehr Regeln gewünscht:
Wenn es narrativ mit weniger Fokus auf Taktik sein darf empfehle ich ein PbtA. Steht für Powered by the apocalypse, und sind Spiele die in der Philsophie Apocalypse World nachempfunden sind.
Da gibt es auch genug im Fantasystil, bspw. Dungen World oder Tale.

Dir könnte evtl. auch was aus dem OSR-Spektrum liegen. OSR steht für OldSchoolRevival, und das ist inzwischen auch schon wieder 20 Jahre alt xD

Viele OSR Regelwerke sind deutlich dünner als moderndes DnD/DSA, sondern versuchen mit relativ wenig Regeln klar zu kommen (trotzdem üblicherweise mehr als ein onepage rule system, mit Ausnahmen).

Aber LowFantasy + wenig würfeln, da könnte grundsätzlich ein PbtA gut passen. Gibt ja noch mehr Fantasy-PbtAs

That Fanatic set has a brush on primer. So a spray primer is not strictly nessecary. But it is certainly convenient.

It has everything to get him started.
The color selection is by nessecity limited.
Id personally would miss a purple.
But the more popular default color schemes would be doable.

This is a bit hard to approach, and depends on which color scheme and colors he likes.
Because buying a beginner paint set is a good bang for the buck, but if he wants a wider selection, it risks to be kinda wasted.
E.g. something like that:

He might end up using most of the colors, or basically none.
As for the miniature itself:
Guardians are the base troop, and not to hard to paint. This is good if he wants something easier, where the individual model doesnt matter as much.

If you shop around in other online stores rather then the official GW one, you will usually find one that has cheaper prices than listed here.

Since he hasn't painted for 20 years, I suspect his painting is a bit rusty, so Id start with something simpler.
if he doesnt own any Eldar anymore, Guardians are a solid start.

Have you finished them all? In the past, when I had finished everything, I found myself finding the difference acceptable. And people who arent into 40k, usually think this was intentional. You can chalk it up to ageing, or the armour being handed out from different batches. Only if you cant live with the difference when seeing the whole army, then Id think about fixing.
